Very Happy
I like to imagine him fully immersed in one crazy night of samba along with liters of tizanas and booty-shakin' latinas, to remove all the bad thoughts in the best possible way.

Not exactly but we always find a way to almost immediately dilute the sadness Very Happy Was in a really big meal with family because of Father's day.

Anyway, that was clearly our worst match in the tournament, so bad defending and a serious lack of initiative to try on attack. And Brazil as usual goes up one level when they see the colors of our team Laughing

We got a pretty good reaction that had them (and the colombians) stunned in the last 5 minutes but we were asking for that to happen all match long and it arrived way too late Mad Plus we missed the equalizer in the last breath when the hardest part had already been done Crying or Very sad typical naïvete of our football.

Anyway, the dream is over for this one but I think the team still grew up in experience with this new coach with our sights set on the soon-to-start WC qualifiers (october).

I feel sad about Venezuela, but even though they are clearly still missing something tactically, and still do some rookie mistakes, it's been a big improvement lately.

About brazil... I wish it would just go home. Even after the 7x1 NOTHING changed in brazilian football administration and politics. Nothing. And clearly everything is wrong and corrupted... It needs an even bigger shock.

that's at least funny. but the dive after getting touched on the face was despicable. main thing i hate about football. pieces of shit that do everything to get an advantage. the guy is a total scumbag.

Thad diving contest in Argentina-Colombia , funny thing is that the referee isn't buying into it, he's actually doing a good job so far for a change, but the players keep trying so hard with the faking Laughing

At least the game isn't boring and there's been some great occasions (mostly from Argentina) but Ospina is doing some impossible shit Surprised

EDIT: Sneaky Messi just managed to fool the referee Laughing

EDIT: Those penalties Laughing Anyway, Argentina goes on deservedly to the semi-finals. Maybe against Brazil? Shocked

The first 6-7 ones were pretty well taken though. Then they both ran out of good "executioners" until Tevez showed up Laughing

The Copa is always so crazy, haha! Poor Colombia, they couldn't do anything with all those strikers affected by zombieitis, not the best way to face such a tough tournament xD
Ospina was amazing really, very underrated GK..I thought Arsenal wanted to keep him but alas. Romero on the other hand is simply insane Laughing

I think that Tevez probably wasn't among the official penalty takers because he feared for another 2011 (when he missed the penalty that costed the elimination Razz). Glad that he could redeem himself somehow.

Haha, it just happens to every country now and then, some years with scarcity of talents are normal, though for Brazil indeed it feels strange since we're used to seeing another type of football entirely. (They've gotten more European, in terms of pure teamplay, and not in a good way Razz Laughing). Still better than our current national squad though!

Portugal is facing a similar problem too for example, but after seeing the U21 tournament I think they'll soon(ish) have a good team again. Razz

The problem isn't exactly scarcity of talents, it's scarcity of everything Laughing
The system is broken. Everyone is corrupt, tactics are ancient, etc, etc... and yet all the people in charge just ignore the problem and pretend everything will be fine. It's sad really, that 7x1 wasn't enough, and I doubt this loss will be.

Silly Peru they made the same mistake we did against them in the first round, with one of their defenders getting himself thrown out very early on when they were dominating the match and being the most menacing. It's a one-person mistake I know, but it still affects the whole group.

Congratulations kumkss Very Happy It's not Chile's falt that Peru screwed up after their great start, you cashed in from the rival's mistake as any good team would have done Wink I know you guys have been looking for your first continental title ever (at the national teams level) and this might be your best chance so I wish you good luck in the final against Argentina or Paraguay.

I think Argentina is the favourite to win the tournament because of their very solid defense and midfield, but it's been proven that anything can happen Smile
