I was watching the "new" season of Brooklyn Nine Nine (season three) and suddenly halfway through watching, Netflix took it down. I was NOT amused.
Frankly, they're digging their own graves. In the end, people will refuse to pay €10 a month for 90% stuff no-one would watch on TV let alone on demand.
Whenever I want to watch a movie, I got to dig through tons of crap to find a movie I've yet to see. More often than not, I end up watching a movie I've seen before out of lack of anything better.
On top of that, a lot of content has no Dutch subtitles - not a problem for me, but my colleagues are complaining since they or their kids can't understand English well enough to follow the plot. Ridiculous since most of these have actual Dutch subtitles available on physical copies!
But netflix not airing some shows in certain countries, isn't that related to how their deal works with the bigger companies which they are "renting" them from rather than netflix being assholes?

It comes down to how much Netflix will pay per region.

Ahh, so the ball's in their court...
Ohh well, that's poopy then because I had to VPN to watch some old Sunny in philly episodes.
Annoying pauses in your streaming movies are going to become less common, thanks to a new trick Netflix is rolling out. It’s using artificial intelligence techniques to analyze each shot in a video and compress it without affecting the image quality, thus reducing the amount of data it uses. The new encoding method is aimed at the growing contingent of viewers in emerging economies who watch video on phones and tablets.
Well we're a liberated society now! Everything is permitted, we're free!
At least the like/dislike ratio doesn't deplete all faith in humanity
I'd rather have a free society than a fascist one. And you still have the ability as a parent to keep your kids away from shit that you think is harmful. And boy is this trash, why the fuck was this greenlit? Maybe they hope that pedos fap themselves to death? Btw Tony, how did you find this? Regular internet usage doesn't seem to be enough to find such "treasures"
The award winning Sundance film is critical of the hypersexualization of girls and social media. The poster by Netflix is meant to generate controversy and free marketing.
You denounce the impact of social media at that age.
During my research, I saw that all these young girls I’d met were very exposed on social media. And with new social codes, the ways of presenting yourself change. I saw that some very young girls were followed by 400,000 people on social media and I tried to understand why. There were no particular reasons, besides the fact that they had posted sexy or at least revealing pictures: that is what had brought them this “fame.” Today, the sexier and the more objectified a woman is, the more value she has in the eyes of social media. And when you’re 11, you don’t really understand all these mechanisms, but you tend to mimic, to do the same thing as others in order to get a similar result. I think it is urgent that we talk about it, that a debate be had on the subject.
