I forgot to mention some things.

The B8 is no longer unconditionally the same visually as the C8. Only from C8 and up we get the newest and greatest processor dubbed alpha 9. But of course we dont know what that means really.

There will also be a feature that aims to remove some color banding artifacts like sony already has. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_banding

The Sony function to smooth gradients is great.
You do get very similar functionality with madVR and Reshade though. But of course it's extra useful as TV function since you can't pass everything through madVR. Being used to MPC+madVR I once watched a stream on Amazon Prime and all the ugly banding I saw for first time in months was really jarring.

Similar with a 3D LUT. Sucks to only have that feature via madvr. Although it feels like ripoff to me, this might make me get calman.

Does the postprocessing/CPU make much difference if the same panel is used?

Who knows what its for. I think the B8 is incapable of 4k 120fps HDR via USB/Ethernet, because of it. It can only combine two of those features or something. And maybe thats the only difference. And what source does anyone have for that anyway?

There might be software differences that need not exist, but do so anyway. If you want to know, you will have to wait for reviews and potentially owners discovering differences.

D-Nice, well known calibrator, has revealed that the auto calibration via calman isn't too useful as it only manages grayscale well. Thx LG and calman Laughing

Is anyone in the market for the Samsung Q9FN? It's getting great reviews, some reviews are even saying it's better than OLED if you look at the total picture. It seems to be the first TV great at blacks and high brightness situations. Not as good as OLED with shadows (well duh), but very close to it. It trumps OLED at brightness, possibly the biggest downfall of OLED currently.

Its not the only problem. Other things seem much more important to me.
How have people been watching anything before HDR? OLEDs will reach 900 nits this year. But apparently that is dark now Laughing
Is it just me, that believes that most of my content will remain SDR for a good while? Not that the OLEDs are actually considered inferior in HDR, since contrast isn't somehow magically solved for LCDs.

I just know this comment, D-Nice being a well known calibrator, saying that in contrast OLEDs are still much better.

The samsung may support HDMI 2.1 VRR, which could be cool for gaming Smile

Also, this year a Panasonic OLED might compete directly with LG Smile (FZ800 or something)
