You could tell what season 2 would be after finishing season 1 (I haven't watched any of S2 yet):
Cobra Kai is back and running the same aggression style that Johnny was taught. Daniel is trying to be Miyagi but doesn't quite get there. Meanwhile Daniels daughter and the "new" young "Daniel" who is training with Daniel are getting cute and this of course creates issues etc. etc. etc..
As long as it's fun and mildly entertaining like season 1 was I'm all for it. We'll see.
Up on Netflix. Very nice show. Can't wait for season 3.

I've heard S3 is the best season, anyone watched it?
S2 is like Beverly Hills 90210, teen romance with a little bit of action every episode. Writing and many of the characters are absolutely atrocious. Way too many are introduced, quantity over quality, it really makes everyone super shallow.
So sloppy too.. S02E09: Lawrence + girlfriend gets a table at the restaurant and it happens to be next to karate kid + wife (..how imaginative). Though in the scene they sit together already, tables together (confused the hell out of me why the restaurant had a combined table like that). We get to see them sitting like that for several minutes, then Lawrence's GF suggests they should combine the tables. Too bad its how they sit already, established in all previous shots
I lost interest during the first couple of episodes of S2 and stopped watching it. S1 was "fun" mainly for nostalgic reasons; you got to see the main (surviving) characters etc., now I don't really care about this show anymore.
The writing for S1 was quite good, same with Karate Kid, its a pretty fun movie, cheesy but still good. S2 is nowhere near that. Im hearing S3 is the best season so thats why im holding out, i have 1 episode left of S2.
I do appreciate when they make fun of woke culture since its supposed to honor its 80s roots, thats the only thing S2 does for me.
Also, why is Lawrence stuck in the 80s, doesn't understand mobile phones, internet is something new to him, all his clothes are from the 80's, how does that make any sense? Do they talk about that in S1 (maybe i forgot). If its only there because he existed in the 80's/he was successful then, then its pretty stupid, mobile phones and internet are pretty major things, even 70 year olds of today understands mobile phones.
He's not much of a muscle guy though But sure.. i know one "muscle guy" (a little younger than Lawrence) and while he doesn't care for mobile phones (doesn't have one) he did not miss the internet or wear 80's clothing. He does hate buying clothes though, so if it wasn't for his wife he'd probably still wear his worn out Depeche Mode t-shirts.. so yeah.. maybe it's not THAT far fetched, when i think of it
Actually, the "love" triangle and Elizabeth Shue saved the season for me in the end of it after all that juvenile telenovela crap in so many episodes. It made the show go forward to the next phase in a believable and even classy way. Doesn't keep the whole thing from being cheesy, but nostalgia is a powerful feeling
I was talking about the neverending Robby/Sam/Manuel thing. Very cheap way to create tension over the seasons. I don't like the Robby character, I find him boring, that might be it.
The show is indeed cheesy, corny and nostalgic. Hearing one of Johnny's speeches alone is worth a watch IMO. "The eagle doesn't get pooped on, it poops".
