First ep was really bad. Not even Hulk could save it.
Throughout the entire episode I had the feeling it was made by and for single wine drinking urban women who like Marvel movies and read contemporary feminist literature.

Not sure what you expected a rehashed made for TV show about a 80's cheesy female superhero turned attorney on Disney+ to be Razz

When it and the named was announced I felt it was obvious the target audience was comfortable middle classes soccer moms: A cheeky 'white woman' humored, power suit wearing, strong independent big city life protagonist.

A Literal 'Ally McBeal' in super hero form is all I expected it to be. And its about par for every cliché show about (white business/cooperate) women in the world, for modern women in the world, since the 80's.

One of the those 'Feel good show about growth and blossoming and coming to terms with life 'changes', but also with some action to spice it up' TV shows. Maybe some vague love interests in there, the types you can really curl up no the couch with your bathrobe and bite into down the line. Why I feel the Captain America got laid was added: Women want to bang Captain America, talk about it indirectly so the target audience can connect the dots of the visual one him laying some pipe.

It could have been one of those shows that merely advertises itself like that to get brownie points but in practice turns out to be alright and light fun for everyone.
But that's clearly not the case here, it's made for a specific target audience.

Again what did you expect a TV show that is pretty much Titled: Powerful woman, turned powerful successful famous lawyer, to be?

If they didnt make the title all about her being a lawyer, It wouldnt be so obvious it's directed to a certain type of audience: Middle class women that want to live vicariously through a successful, take no shit, no non-sense woman that gets fantastical powers to be able to handle things outside of her successful law practice. And the trailer wasnt a ham fisted metaphor of "Being a woman in todays Corporate world is hard, dealing with personal problems of accepting change makes it harder. If only I had brawn to go with my sexy, good looking body and brains"

It's as transparent its going to have a target audience as if they called the Hulk movie, Hulk: Biochemist Engineer. and the trailer was all about Bruce being a nerdy successful scientist that just HAPPENS to get 'hulk smash' powers to deal with things a nerdy weak STEM student might have to deal with in life. (Big Bang Show but with super powers).

Not sure how its Propaganda. Its simply a demographic targeted market TV show that you dont happen to be part of. A TV show trope thats been around 50+ years as its a lucrative market to aim at that whole time.

Mix the age old tried and true trope of above, with a lacking in female aimed as main character super hero shows, with super heroes are the hot thing right now and its a no brainer: You (At least try) to grasp that untapped money stream.

Since the 70s: Take whatever is hot entertainment media at the time. Make a female appealing version of it centered around the hint that its a male dominated world, but women are "better thinkers to get shit done" for the fantasy/comedy appeal.
[IE see any most sitcom or cartoon adult sitcom: Wife is the smart rational one. Hubby is the big lovable oaf that is the dumb one, or at least the one that causes situations to get worse.]. Its a win win formula: Women get to see a show where the women are the ones to fix things where the man is the bumbling over reacting fool, men get to see a show where they can laugh at being smarter than that 'dumbass' going "I know a guy like that!" while wife sarcastically goes "....yea me too...!"

Shockingly, everything is not custom made for you as the target audience, isn't propaganda. Its simply not aimed at you.

Is it a poorly written, bad CGI show of fluff? Yes. Propaganda? Thats really reaching to find intent in a reused TV trope thats as old as the black and white HoneyMooners TV show. (Alice the calm smart one dealing with things and solving stuff that Ralph the man causes due to "you know..being a quick to overreact lovable troglodyte of a man")

this isn't propaganda. propaganda is clever. this is everything but clever.
she can control being Hulk just because she's a woman and deals with hardships everyday. holding in/controlling her emotions. everyday. acting like she has everything put together. every day. of her life. that's why she excels so much at being Hulk. being what women believe have to be. struggling every single day. every day.

it's not realistic. any woman who actually feels that way has been told to behave that way because it is what it is to be a woman (60s/70s). I thought feminism has moved away from that, but I guess it is back.

my wife was pissed watching this. it just shows little girls you have to hide who you are in plain sight just to fit in with the other gender. which is an incredibly wrong and dated message. you can't act tough and strong in one scene and then explode that you have to fake being tough and strong just to survive. because either she is or isn't. the explosion indicates she isn't. but somehow it shows that she is. Rolling Eyes

it's not personal growth. this is feminism ridiculed. it's the white woman tears trend from tiktok that every independent, strong woman loathes.

Hulk... he went from I'm a scientist who's always "angry" to I'm a dopey caricature of my past self. it like mark Ruffalo from his rom-com days. not mcu Ruffalo. it works here cause it's shit. but drastically changing a character from a serious one to a doofus one for me personally indicates death of MCU. no character is set in stone. one second you'll have dr strange being this alpha male, the next he will be a groveling idiot holding signs outside a door begging for a dick suck. it'll work in this show.

and the CGI is horrendously cheap. it wasn't youtubes compression. it wasn't uploaded wrong. it's just awful.

they could have just made her turn into Hulk pre snap, and be locked on that island for 5 years, learning everything she could do, by herself, without guidance, so there will be so mistakes and fuck ups, but she did it herself. once everyone returns, they recover her and she's like sup sup sup. and show off how she managed to control her Hulk self.

ms. marvel had the right message, be yourself. the message here is, hide who you are because being a woman is a sign of weakness. but then be the hulk cause hulk stronk.

I always thought the "message" disney's feminism is strightfully bad.

Disney Star Wars sequals trilogy were particularly very bad at it, basically being a woman you are nesscery better leadership than the male counterpart, you can be better in just a few years than people who handle the force for dozens or even hundred of years...

Yea, they at least tried to modorate things up in Star Wars serieses and focusing more on what fans want.

MCU is a zigzag it this take on.

Sometimes it doesn't get as much attention that it hurt the story(Avengers for example) but some does, especially Black Widow which I consider the wrost MCU I ever watched.

There are just spam of Disney star wars and marvel shows that I don't have the time to watch anyway.

If series/Movie is to criticize the treatment of women I prefer the Game of thrones/House of the dragons approach, which is for the most part more balanced, and female characters while could be badass for a while, they are not really goddesses and are prone for flaws and mistakes.

incorrect.
their messaging is dependant on the writer.
ms marvel message is be yourself, true to yourself.
Cap'n marvel message is Whamen are stronkest
she hulk message is male gaze is more hazardous to women because reasons.

Well to be fair, thats nearly all women targeted movies/tv shows(as is ones trying to connect on an emotional level of faux-'we get you and your struggles in this world') since forever, they use one of the following:

-Be yourself, True to yourself.
-Women can do what men can do, and better!
-Women are more complex and deep than trumped up male caveman ogga-booga stares and judgements.

I can name 100's of shows or movies since the 70's that the whole premise of the shows, and plots of the movies are those very things.
I think just since the volume knob of woke vs anti-woke has been turned to 11. The thing that has always been a thing, now gets extra scrutiny for existing.

Yea, it was the best MCU film since endgame(Infinity war is the best IMO), partly because the movie is more straightforward, and putting the whole SJW asides.

There's both kinds, Hollywood people aren't exactly the sharpest (just read anything from Mark Ruffalllo). They're going all in with just repeating, wearing you down completely. If you watch enough of this shit day in and day out, obviously you will be affected because at some point you will just accept it. I can tell a lot of people are already affected but obviously it's not apparent to them that they are. It works subconsciously of course, like all propaganda, but this propaganda is only effective for losers who watches this shit year after year.

It's true that we've had feminist themes for a long time, nothing new at all.. But pure propaganda that isn't telling anything interesting or clever and is basically done to 1) piss of men, especially conservatives. The goal for a long time has been to take over culture that they believe many men and/or conservatives likes - star wars, star trek, comics, roleplaying etc 2) please a really tiny crowd of activists + leftist media who will shill for them, gain ESG.

Where does it say it was made to piss off men? They couldnt have made for someone else than men, without the reason being to piss men off?
Sounds a bit self centric: They made something, and it pisses me off, therefor it had to be made to piss me off.
(The cracker barrel thing: They added plant based sausage to piss me off pandering to vegans in MY favorite restaurant. No they added it to the list of 100 other meat ones is all. They did it for reasoning other that based around you, regardless of how much you think all thier choices are about you.

Once again, I do not see how the oxymoronic claims that are usually made against entertainment media work together 1.) they are a greed driven machines 2.) They purposely with intent, aim to piss off 1/2 of the wallets with regularity.

Sure now and then some big pet project gets a greenlight that the group behind it had a goal of 'sending a jadded message' but its not the majority of content by far.

Not sure if you realize. Almost every stance you take on a heated controversial topic seems to resolve to a conclusion that fits this:
You, being Perry the Platypus is intelligent, observant, good/right guy. The other side is Dr. Doofenshmirtz, evil but also infinitely slapstick buffoonish and are totally obviously evil while doing it due them being cartoonishly bad at being that evil.
Wanting to label them as evil, but also make sure that evil is not conveyed as a threating evil but more keystone cops mostly incompetent evil. Just a bumbling "obvious evil plot is obvious" so bad at it that even the evil scheme is counter to their main goals, without any of them noticing it.

It's hand tailored for angry, lonely Karens who's pissed off at men (anti-male - your average Woke show). Would they write that? Rather unlikely.

They made Starlord bisexual, and that was as a revenge for Chris Pratt being a Christian/conservative, this came out. Why would you believe it would be impossible for them to act in a similar way when it comes to making a show, as partially at least, revenge?

If they didn't care about pissing off nerds/older fans then they would have zero interest in e.g comics, or established characters, they would do new ones for the new fans (that they imagine exists - or do they, really..)
It's not like they're doing any kind of money with a comic like crippled lesbian Spiderperson, as a recent example.

Even Bezos admitted Amazon LOTR is not really made to make money and "Regardless Of Actual Viewership" they claim the series is a "victory" (recent interview). So it's not about entertaining, not about viewers, not about making money. It's because it's about politics and they are ready to lose money on it because it's more like advertisement (if we use a kind word for it) than actual entertainment as we know/knew it. This is something new that we did not have 20 years ago, entertainment was made for profit and for profit to come you need to please the fans.

The woke way is to say "fuck the fans! The show is for us and our investors and for people to change their view/vote/way of thinking!" And they can do that for a while, but now we see many shows (and at least 1 big, big movie production) being cancelled because in the long run they're running out of investors and money (and someone with a brain finally steps in / or leadership is changed).

it was more about accepting who you are.
which is a decent message. less clunky Feminism as well.
it is improving.

it seems that the personalities of the characters don't travel between shows/movies. so if they do daredevil as some wimpy day-away-from-blue-hair sjw in this show, you won't know if the character will be the same in their own show

hulk here is vastly different than the hulk we know from the movies.
