I think a conversation I had with my daughter about a friend of hers about 6 months ago that got REALLY offended by me calling her 'she' when she wanted to be called 'he' (they decide this a week before and I found out that day) sums up my feelings:
Be gay. be trans. Be whatever you want. Be happy. Want to say you are a 4 slice toaster? Awesome! toast the shit out of that bread, you go girl!
But to demand people that have known you for a long time all of a sudden have to remember, without fail, to call you a new pronoun or you are offended that they are so 'insensitive' is not fair.
You had a long time to dwell on it, to struggle with it, and to come to terms with what you want to be. Why do they not get a same grace period? They need time to adjust, time to rewire the second nature they have of calling you what they always did before. They aren't 'against' you if they do. Or insulting or mocking you. It can be a honest mistake of habit.
And that at the end of the day. All that is nothing more than a personal respect thing, than a 'truth'.
I know it sound cold. But fact is like it or not, trans just means 'really fancy costume'.
Its not a transformation, or miracle that they are magically transformed biologically into what they want to be. They are just doing a really elaborate costume.
Just like on Halloween, your daughter dresses up as a princess and you go along with calling her "Your highness" for the day because she wants to really feel like and be like one, and you care for her and want her to be happy so you will address her as what makes her smile. But that's all trans is, a 24/7 costume of mostly cosmetic gender appropriate outer parts bolted on, and some chem therapy to mimic the other parts. And people that care for you agree to address you as such to make you comfortable 'playing princess' to help you feel you are what you want to be.
And just like if I took my daughter to McDonalds after Halloween and the cashier went "And for you little girl?" I have no right, or even place to demand "She is a princess and you will address her as such madam!" unless it is mutually understood beforehand that the cashier is also to play along with our concept she's really a princess. Or the cashier has seen her everyday in the outfit and knows she really thinks she is one. (And even then its out of courtesy more than demanded expectations.)
So if people do not align with your lifestyle costume at the drop of a hat, you must understand some people may do it out of a honest mistake, out of not knowing its what you want, or some out there...just out of not acknowledging gender consumes as a valid 'poof new person!' concept. If you want to be different than the norm to feel comfortable know that different than norm takes conscious effort to treat/address as if it was nothing and it was just another norm sometimes, and human habits die hard. You want US to be understanding? BE understanding of US in return.

Some people who do transition lead better lives.
More functioning lives. There are legitimate cases.
Honest cases and they don't treat you like a piece of shit cause they don't do it for attention. They understand that to some people it may be odd and strange and they need time to process. Those folks I respect.
I don't respect those who don't respect me having a hard time to fathom why/how or even new pronouns.
Its that simple. Yelling at me shows me you're an immature brat with no respect for others and demand to be life handed to you. Nothing but a retarded snow flake and parents gave up on them after giving them nothing but love.
Most of these narcissists were given many a chances at life and decided they weren't special enough.

I've seen several actors use their old names in their first couple movies, yet the list of actors still use their current name with a little "credited as" in brackets.
Francis Ford Coppola's second listed director job is "Battle Beyond the Sun (as Thomas Colchart, re-edited version with new footage)".
And hey. All of Elliot's old credits are listed as "Name of Character (as Ellen Page).

I still don't see this "erase" part tho. How was Ellen erased? All the credits on IMDB still list the old credits as "as Ellen Page". Wikipedia still has his birth name as "Ellen Grace Philpotts-Page".
That retarded article says Ellen has been erased, but I fail to see anything even remotely approaching erasure.
IMDB fully acknowledges that his old name was Ellen Page. Wikipedia fully acknowledges that his old name was Ellen Page.
Nothing was erased as far as I can tell, no matter how some pearl-clutching journo can't cope.
I'm kinda disappointed that otherwise reasonable people fall for such obvious demagoguery.

Yeah.
Celebrities changing their names is mostly due to pr agencies making it marketable. Names in media are important. They become a brand.
Trans names are made up to suit their persona.
Or fursona. Ego.
And previous names are dead names and are like an assault on their agency if you use them. Its ridiculous and stupid and you shouldn't be cancelled for saying a wrong name.
But also, if gender is fluid and a spectrum why does it only apply to trans snowflakes? As in you go from male to female or female to male. And it is legitimate, but you can't say gender is binary. Because to other snowflakes it isn't and they change their gender on a whim but no operation needed. I dont understand this fucked up shit.
I understand legitimate transitions that last for years and aren't for attention. But I don't understand intentional bodily mutilation because no one decided to actually talk to you and only just enforced your psychotic ego.

And more importantly, they change their shitty names before they get famous. Very few instances when they change their names after they are famous. And you don’t see media maniacally go back in history to modify all mentions to previous name, as if that name is cancer, which is what happened. They even maniacally erased “his” ( ) win of sexiest woman alive from Wikipedia as “nobody cares”.
People defending this behavior are idiots.
