1) Why in the shit would the snes emu require 1.50 since the file itself, the author himself and the emulator itself mention fw3.xx ? So what if it's from january 2008 ?
2) Downloading Tyrian and Frontier !!!! (any others ported to psp ? playing them on the pc is less elite)

I honestly don't know. All I know is that it does not work on 5.50 GEN-B, from my own testing and from the reports of countless threads and posts on countless sites.

SCUMMVM! All the current LA SCUMM-engine games have been ported to the PSP and, apparently, they run great!

=Update=
This is for those that have got CFW GEN-C;
Code: |

GENyUS and Yoshihiro have released an apology and explanation for Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-C which was basically a bug ridden and very problematic release. I even saw some users referring to it as 5.50 GEN-Crap – With is pretty harsh.
Anyway GENyUS and Yoshihiro are now working to quickly release Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-D to fix all the issues that were present. Were not likely to see a release till its well and truly tried and tested. A bug free release. We’ll keep you updated.

So now you're saying Tyrian works on GEN-B too?
Again, prove it.

I'm not an expert on thePSP homebrew, but
http://exophase.com/psp/tyrian-psp-10-now-with-psp-slim-support-3110.htm
Quote: | Version 1.0 is based on OpenTyrian revision 689 and features support for firmware 3.X based firmware and PSP Slim units. |
So I guess again it works because it's made for the 3.xx kernel.
How should I prove it, make a video, lol ? I mean, seriously !

I still have a phat as well, and really won't get a new one.
I don't really care about 1.50 support. But what about all the new games coming out? Will they still be on UMD as well? Or will they only be digital download at some point? Because then we might not be seeing them getting ripped, or is the DRM cracked as well?

There is a new wave of encrypted games coming, mainly Tekken 6 atm. They require 6.10 firmware and current decrypters don't work and gen-d2's built-in on-the-fly decrypter doesn't work either.

thanks good to know. I was browsing for tekken 6 just yesterday. Guess people will just wait till the decrypters updated again.
Slim 5.00 M33-6 has run every game thats been tested on it in recent months thanks to that prog.

The Tekken 6 PSN rlz by HR works on the phat psp on GEN-B out of the box. On other firmware versions you need to overwrite a file on flash0 as well, fuck that.
Only works on phat for now, just remember to disable fatmsmod.

because of tekken 6 i really wanna update my old modded psp.
problem is i completely forgot how so i'll just ask here for help or link to a good guide:
how do i upgrade a psp slim with cfw 3.71 m33-4 to the most stable and recent fw(probably 5.50 Gen-B?)
i have a pandora battery as well as a magic memory stick with the old cfw versions on it(3.xx)
i'm asking because it's years since i last messed about with the firmware and don't wanna mess anything up >_>.
thx.

First get to 5.00 m33-6 easily by running the updater and having the 500 eboot.
Then maybe later you will want to update to 5.50 gen-d2

well i've upgraded to 5.50 Gen-D... that was so much easier than i thought it would be and didn't even require anything else but my own mem stick for games and not the one i keep as a magic backup.
so does this basically work with all games out?
my friend tried his with pangya fantasy golf and it didn't work and he doesn't know why =/.
but anyways tekken 6 works like a damn charm... now i've got another game to waste tons of hours on >_>.

5.50 GEN-D2 works with all games, just change between M33 and Sony noumd setting (pressing select while in the psp XMB)

can't update till tomorrow.
you're not supposed to be able to change between m33/umd mode here right? because i press select and nothing happens... gen-d is weird and his issues have become mine now. i just tried it with soul calibur GTA: CW and both didn't start but tekken 6 worked fine until i went out and tried to boot it up again... like with the other games nothing happens O.o.
here's hoping gen-D2 fixes this or at least somebody tells me what i'm doing wrong.
edit: nvm... apparently an umd is needed in the drive for games to boot up.
phew.

When you press select while on the menu, you get some options, right ? Your current option is wrong, it should be M33 or the Sony driver, so you don't need UMDs (except for movies, then you need a random one)
And make sure you don't have any weird plugins enabled (go into recovery mode by holding R trigger while cold-booting the device)
Gen-D2 is stable, it runs everything I throw at it.
