The recommendable RAM voltage for SB is 1.500V or below.
Try increasing the QPI/Vtt to 1.15V (just to fit below the 0.45 difference; it's a safe value - don't worry, but don't go over it in any case). And see if you get any BSODs in the next couple of days. |
Are you 110% sure this is safe to do?

For starters - increase it to 1.10V.
Quote: | VCCIO: more commonly known at QPI/VTT voltage, this is the VTT voltage. Formally known as Processor Power for I/O it is the voltage for the integrated memory controller as well as the PCI-E controller. While Intel’s Maximum is 1.05 +/- 3% = 1.08v, you can go higher, much higher. I would recommend staying below 1.2v for 24/7 use... |

H_S is on to something here actually, I hadn't realised your RAM was meant for the old i7's. That may in fact cause BSODs; 1.1 on the IMC (QPI/VTT) is plenty safe and might be just enough to fix it, although the best way would still be to get a kit that's made for 1.5v

You know what, im getting really confused here, ill wait for you to show up and help me with this OC and stability
Btw im wondering, as i dont have my new case just yet (waiting for next payment), is it a big problem if we build the mugen2 into this old case?
Cuz the thing is soooooo goddamn big that im affraid it might break my mobo in 2 pieces
I mean, look how big the goddamn thing is: http://i.imgur.com/1yp0t.jpg

No, go ahead into the BIOS (well, UEFI) and set that VTT, QPI, IMC or whatever it's called (it's all the same really) to 1.1. Worst case, your CPU goes "FUCK YOU I CANT DEAL WITH THIS" and shut down, after which your UEFI will most likely reset the value.
Whether it's a good idea to put the Mugen on there? Depends on your current case. If you've got a hole for easy access to the backplage, it's not that big of a deal, because you can just take the whole set out when moving it into the new case. It's probably easier to wait until you got the new one though, as it'll allow to make sure things are 100% clean, cables routed properly, etc

Currently in the NZXT Apollo, going to get Phantom ofc for the new system.
Still need to buy a new PSU, 2x Data hdd's and the case (and prolly a few extra fans/led's and so on )
Was thinking of getting myself a second HD6870, but many say i should just wait for the new series to come.

I suggest keeping the Mugen out for now then. You want to install CPU coolers just once, and do it properly when you do it so. Plus it'll allow me to plan a bit more ahead and help you overclock it all properly
You won't need any more fans in the Phantom, trust me
As for the other stuff: do wait for the new cards.

Well, since you entered BIOS, set the according value and saved your changes on the way out, then it's been set rightly. I think SpeedFan was another application that can show you different voltages around your MoBo.

Why don't you fire some stress program up? AIDA64 has a nice stability program. Just to see if you'll get kaboomed by one of those nasty blue screens again.

OK. Sausje, if there's any clock done, remove it. Switch everything to default. Re-flash your bios to the latest stable one and then change the VTT to 1.10.

Don't you have an old HDD lying around somewhere which you could use for a week or so just to make it isn't the SSD that's making the trouble? |
Like i said at the start at this topic :
I got 1 old hdd (IDE) but there is no IDE connection on the mobo, so thats a no.
Then i got a dual Spinpoint F3, wich i cannot reactivate the raid0 volume on, so i cannot use them as there is about 1.7TB of data on them.
So ill have to wait till the 23th this month, when i get a 336 euro extra money, and will get me the rest (case, psu and hdd's).

Well, update on this.
Been almost a week since i updated firmware on the Vertex 3, 0 BSOD anymore related to HDD (G19 was causing issues, but that aside).
So yea, updated firmware did the trick for me, and im a happy owner now of this SSD

Yea, well we pretty much confirmed it was the SSD already back then, just not 110% sure.
But yea, happy it was just firmware (for now) that caused it. Returning stuff to an online store is shit (takes 4 weeks to get anything back, while in a store you get it within a day or so)
