It's the definitive step, out of pure desperation, to cover up the fact that she's an abysmal 'artist', so she rides the shock(herp)wave. Like an even trashier Lady Gaga who was in her turn a trashier Madonna, and so on, only the parabola is very much descending.
Soon there will be an even trashier Miley Cyrus, although I don't know if such thing is even possible.
