Sorry, but how does that work?
Stick in a gamepad (360 controller = flawless support in any multiplatform game) -> same experience (visuals aside)?

You do this + PC on TV and voilĂ you have your console.

Yup, that's exactly the point. So saying "multiplatform games play better on console" is utterly absurd.

@sabin1981 : about TPS, that's your opinion (aiming is surely better with a mouse, but can't say for the rest !).

I'm not sure what you consider a TPS, because some games like Tomb Raider have many TPS parts, but also some platforming parts, which are fine with a gamepad obviously.
I really don't imagine myself moving Lara or jumping from cliff to cliff with my keyboard, but hey, whatever you say

i play all multiplats on PC and always use a pad unless it's FPS or RTS. even for TPS i use a pad, aiming is not as accurate, but overall it feels way better to play TPS with a pad than a mouse+kb at least for me.

PC Purist Elitist
I suggest you take a look in the threads for Shift or pCARS. All gamepads and wheels there. A lot of platform games (Rayman for example) people play with gamepads. I know I do.
And far from all multiplatform games, not even most, play better with a gamepad. Bioshock, Dishonored, DX:HR just to pick 3 big ones. Has nothing to do with being a console game, multiplatform game or PC game - yet everything to do with the type of game.

I installed TR last night and I'm playing with the keyboard; not sure what a gamepad would add at all
This is the problem though and I sincerely hope PS4 will have KB+M support. You can go on about "PC Elitist" BLABLABLA - but the fact is that there's more PC gamers actively using gamepads when appropriate than there are console gamers willing to even just admit (!) that KB+M might just be a superior input method for some games. So PC Elitist my ass. And here's problem #2: you're practically forced to use the 360 pad due to lazy developers, there's a fuckton of games where you need to use all kinds of emulation and hooks to make non-360 pads work.
I would've loved to play TLoU with KB+M. RDR would've been so much better with KB+M. Even if you don't agree - it would've just been nice to have the fucking option. And I really, really hope the PS4 will make this more standard.
That "PC elitist" phrase needs to die quick, because it's starting to annoy me a great deal. You can start using it again when I don't get shot down for using the word "blur" in the console section, even when I negate that word. Until then, pure console gamers are elitist cunts as much as pure PC gamers are.

@Werelds : to each his own, some people prefer pad, some people prefer Keyb+M. I know that even for FPS, I wouldn't use K+M it on a console (even though it's superior for FPS, on a PC, read bellow.
Why ? Simply because I already tried in the past with Unreal Tournament 1 on PS2 and that was awkard : problem is, I was trying it from my couch ( ), far from my TV, without anything to put the K+M on my lap, thus it was awkward and completely unplayable.
Then, I tried to put them on a small table, in front of my couch ( again ), but then I had to break my back to much to reach my K+B, and it was painful : why ? Because usually the couch ( damn it !) isn't like a chair, and thus you have to lean forward to catch anything in front of you : poor back !
I didn't try to put a desktop and a chair next to my TV, that would have worked for sure but meh... Come on ! At this point I'd rather play the PC version of the game
Therefore, the only way I can really see K+M being properly used on a console is if you are planning to play it from a desktop, and plug the console to a PC monitor for example (like sabin or KillerCrocker do).
It's kinda the same issue you have on PC with touch screens : they are useless because the way you need to have your arm to reach the PC monitor is really painful, and isn't like a tablet which is easier. And moving the PC monitor isn't an option !
PS : how do you like TR ?

Well no, KB+M will be awkward depending on how you sit in front of your console; in my situation it would work fine. The point is though, to have the option would be nice
And any FPS I'll play on PC anyway; if it's no on PC then it can fuck right off. Part of why I can't stand Killzone (aside from the vaseline smear and shallow everything). RDR I would've played with KB+M had I had the option; purely because there's a great deal of shooting. Everything else makes no difference between KB and gamepad anyway so.

Only played up to the part where you have to shoot the poor little deer :'(
Was mainly to see how it would run and how it looks, all of that is dumb intro shit anyway. No gameplay performance issues yet at 2xSSAA with TressFX on, but Sniffty (MinderMast...GET THAT CHANGED ALREADY SNIFY) said it requires patching. My game clearly has AA without vaseline and TressFX was working, so it seems the release I got is already patched or something. I did notice though that cutscenes would inexplicably drop to 40-50 FPS for no apparent reason
And that "puzzle" with the barrels to get out of the cave had me going since my first instinct was to light that shit up. So naturally I saw the slide, saw the lift and all and figured I'd light that and kaboom. But no option to light the fire, you gotta shove it down first, walk down, let Lara go "OH LOOK THERE'S FUEL IN THOSE BARRELS, IF ONLY...." before you get the option to light it
I hope that that is just because it's an intro puzzle. The icons are also stupid, just display the key to press instead ffs, because the icons are barely distinguishable. First impression is that the platforming is miles ahead of Uncharted, because you actually manually jump. That said, the jumps early on are all impossible to miss unless you do it on purpose or aren't looking at the screen, so we'll see. The bow mechanic so far is boring, because it's aim -> shoot; no need to really wait until you've fully drawn. I assume that changes later on? I saw that in some videos at least.
