Owning any of these guns in my country would send me to jail for 5 -10 years or so. Getting a permit for a pistol is nearly impossible, and owning an assault rifle / sniper rifle is illegal - there's no permit for that stuff. Around here you need a police permit even for a compound bow or a crossbow. Or a double edged knife. Or a sword.
Ceausescu was quite concerned he might be assassinated, so his people made laws to appease him. Thing is, Ceausescu died 23 years ago, but the laws are still unchanged.

Almost non-existant. When it happens (less than ten times a year), it usually involves hunting shotguns, or more commonly gas pistols (non-lethal, you need a police permit for those too).
These incidents are so rare they always get broadcasted on the news.
Crime around here usually involves melee weapons (knives, axes, bats mostly). 
To spice things up, last year we had two groups of gypsies fighting each other with cheap swords in a bar, it was quite hilarious though, and nobody was seriously injured.

I consider myself pretty far to the left, but I wouldn't disown my daughters if they had guns 
They just wouldn't be aloud them in my house, what they do in their own is really up tot hem.
I sitll think that guns for civilians should be illegal though
