Last time I got in without proper identification, ID card stolen and my passport being expired (only noticed that 1 days before the trip on a Sunday ). Then again I took the expired passport with me and they noted down the number.

Thankfully that worked otherwise me and my girl would have said bye bye to our vacation and the money on hotel and such

Anywho with German nationality an ID card should suffice.

Btw Saus, have some fun in the UK don't go all chav and just smoke and sit around, you can do that in NL

Double Nationality for turks? Ahahaha, no no, not in germany, turks don't get any rights like that Smile Doesn't matter if I was born here and lived all my life here and payed my taxes.

I'd have to pay ~ 500-600€ to become a german citizen but my wife has to wait some years until she can apply and I don't want her to wait in another line and get treated like shit while I enjoy the cool people waiting line.

So I'll wait some more time until we apply together Smile

The whole thing sucks but you're handling it pretty good Smile

I have an ukrainian friend living in the EU, and I hear it's terrible with the working visa stuff, they keep asking for new documents, taxes, etc, every year and there's always this fear that they might not renew it. I think it's fucked up that governments make it so hard for honest people who just want to have a decent life, work and pay taxes, while terrorists and other scumbags always seem to find an easier route...

Haha because i got invited to come there, all expenses paid, so why not Wink

They wanted to come down for my birthday with like 4-5 people and stay some days, but 2 of them got a new assignment from work suddenly, so they couldn't make it. Thus they decided that the money they would spend on tickets to come here could just as well be used to pay everything for me and allow me to visit them for once Wink

Have a fun 'trip' Saus xD
Just, try not to pass out too many times! And like Nalo said, when you have some moments of lucidity, visit the Big Ben, the Queen's lounge, some epic museums and all the other nice thingies there, should be a great experience (so I've been told, since I've never had the chance to touch the British soil). And don't pick any fights with chavs D:

I hope not. Turkey hasn't been destroyed by the EU as yet, unlike most others, and this still gives me somewhere to go on holidays without getting ripped off Smile

Don't be seen smoking weed blatantly here in the UK, they take not too kindly to that Wink

What happened? Nearly all countries require a visa for visiting, some even have insane fees Laughing Crying or Very sad

Enjoy the vacation sausje. I'd say any vacation out of your own country is always an adventure!

Well if you are german you can walk around freely into almost any country...

F.e. any german can enter turkey without even a passport.. they just show their ID and enter... same for swiss, dutch and so on.

Sad the vacation didn't go through, but UK is awesome too IMO.

@PumpAction: don't you get a discount on your citizen application since you were born there? It's like that in NL here. While my wife has to pay 600-900 (WTF!?) to get her citizenship, I had to pay 200 a couple of years ago. Turkey requires a visa for a lot of countries btw, but it's usually 10-20 euros. I forgot my Turkish passport a couple of years ago, they told me I needed to get a visa. Waiting 1.5-2 hours in line at the airport to pay 15 or so euros was absolutely retarded.

No discounts.

While getting a visa might only cost 10-20 euro, the amount of stuff I had to do to get my brother in law here is unreal. I have to provide my income, a pricy invitation letter (which was like 50-60 euros I think) that I need to get signed by my local administration and that I have enough room for the person and so on. Then they have to get appointments in turkey and give all the paper work (like school documents, property, savings data and so on) to a third party private company that will then issue the visa...

And you have to buy the plane ticket upfront so that you can show that you will return in time and all that crap.

I am sure a german citizen would have to do exactly the same if they want to invite someone from outside EU (might be exceptions like USA, Japan etc)

I know i did, to get my foreign wife here to Denmark.
