I'm guessing no one else ever saw the fucked up irony in that? Banning a game about killing Nazi's is exactly what the Third Reich would have done had it won the war - and yet - here we are.
Is zombie blood/gore still banned in games over there? Seems to be almost on the same level as Australia/New Zealand with its ridiculous ratings system in regards to entertainment.
Then again, the US is just as fucking stupid when it comes to nudity. I guess nowhere is safe.
The issue was more like having swastikas in the game and killing people, but the whole index stuff has changed in the past 5 years and now swastiskas are allowed and even shooting people.
What still is banned is stuff that glorifies Nazi/Hitler stuff or killing people just for fun (Manhunt for example).
BPjM aka Goverment centre for Child and Youth media protection is not that harsh anymore.
Wolfenstein couldve been unbanned ages ago, but that would involve money noone wanted to spend on such a game and after 25 or 30 years the banned games get a reexamination no matter what and results usually in a removal.
