Yea, there is lot of good QoL improvements in this game over original. Once they add modding support, it should make this game much better. I'm hoping they'll be able to further optimize this game.
My specs:
Ryzen 5950x @ boosting 5ghz, Gigabyte x570 Aorus Master, 128gb G.Skill Trident Neo pc3600 ram, nVidia RTX 5080, SoundBlasterX G6, Samsung 980 Pro m.2 1TB and Hynix m.2 1TB storage SSD. Custom watercooling loop.

Same for me, just the startup was lying to me to be promising. Soon as I start a town and stuff starts moving in. It drops from the 80-90s to the 40s.
Aside from that, I both like, and dislike it gameplay wise. LOL
It adds a LOT of new stuff, but it's 'different' is all. So feel wrong. Just some taking to get use to as it seems better implementation of things. Like putting down roads while better than the old vanilla way, looks and feels awkward only because I am 1000+ hours use to the old way and feel.

Seeing the brain-dead positive reviews on steam, pushing it to mixed now from mostly negative just make me say.... good on the devs, keep on realeasing shit like this cause people are just that dumb.
Defenses like "Set Dynamic resolution scaling to constant and you get 60 fps".. nevermind you're now rendering at like 720p or maybe lower, but fuck it dude, just make shit up.
Or 4070ti, runs smooth at 50-60 fps on 5000 pop, and all you got to do is set details to low, disable global ilumination, shadows, volumetric fog, yeah... fuck it, that is why you pay 1000$ for a gpu, to play a game looking like its from the early 2000s.
I just don't understand this defense for developers and games. Even when I enjoy a game, I can separate that from it being good or optimized or whatever. I can get enjoyment and still recognize the problems and find them unacceptable, and not recommend the game to people, but this just seems to be impossible for some people, just the most mindless tribablism....

In this forum you'd never know if that's a joke or a serious (albeit brainrotten) remark

Nah, I'm good with not visiting anything related to Star Citizen as I'd rather avoid cultists.

Running 3840x1600 on the ultrawide, everything on high except no vsync, no depth of field, no volumetric crap, shadows and global illumination set at medium and in advanced, AA set to TAA.
On my rig, I'm getting about 60-85fps depending on scene. Minor stutters here and there.

@dethy
Same other than I have vsync on (it can't get high enough for freesync to be in range and tears with it off).
Seems all the fluff crap I turn off anyway in the old one, was/is the issue.
I played with it on for a couple hours, but got annoyed by it and turned it off. double the FPS.
no DoF and all the annoying volumetric stuff that makes seeing the city hard to see anyway when zoomed out, turn that off and even on large-ish cities (well large for how far I've made it toying with the new features in different maps) its same range as your FPS I get.

Yep. Now, the biggly question.... how the fuck do I make money in this game? Everything is so fucking expensive, only thing keeping me afloat is the milestone rewards and government tit infusion.

Yep that's a joke, panning around at 30fps would make my eyes bleeding

That's the way, for now.
I still don't understand why they didn't turn these options off by default knowing it will hit performance so much

Budget planning is kinda weirdly hard in this game :
- at the bottom bar you get cash / cash flow in $/hour
- in services information you get cost in $/month and only max cost
- some services are adapting their costs with your city needs
So how can one plan city's budget ?
Once your city grows cash will eventually come, if you don't go to fast on services, etc.
