You guys really should read some background info on a game before you start bashing for not being something it was never intended to be in the first place. |
Want some background on this game ??

lol I love that quote. Comming from the dumb ass that has about 13 expansions to one game alone. Medal of honor since..what..the 90's? 3 Fight nights, madden since the early 90's.
And in all this franchise milking fiasco, WHERE THE HELL IS ROAD RASH
Army of two is their first new game developed by THEM since....uh...fight night I think.

If that CEO is such an idiot, no wonder EA games are such crap. Let's see:
"We're boring people to death"
Okay, EA games are with their endless expansion crap - no other publishers milk their IP so badly. Yet you keep doing the crap and then say "we're boring people to death"?
"making games that are harder and harder to play"
Oh come on, games are easier than they are 10 years ago. Much much easier. In fact, it's very hard to find a game that is too hard to complete these days - quicksaving, unlimited lives, regenerating health, etc. It's not because a game has a few more buttons to use that it's harder you tard. People want a challenge and too many games these days no longer offer that.
"For the most part, the industry has been rinse-and-repeat"
Replace "industry" with EA Games - they are the worst of all publishers in this area, so trying to include every other company in it is really the pot calling the kettle black.
"There's been lots of product that looked like last year's product, that looked a lot like the year before"
Yes, a lot of EA products. Medal of Honor, NHL, FIFA, Madden, Need For Speed, etc.

A simulator would denote some sort of tangible relation to reality. This is not the case.

I can't run it either, whenever I place a building the game crashes... well, almost every time anyway, in the tutorial I managed to build 10 buildings, and in a non-tutorial game I just started I managed to build a power plant (but then no-matter what I build it crashes)

Which is exactly why I'm bashing it... this is not a SimCity game, it doesn't deserve that name

Tried it.
Woke up, unlocked every sinlge awards before noon. Just build a high pop city then spam an empty area with the apropriate buildings to generate/use enough stuff for the other awards, and you can finish the more special trophies (sherrif for example) in another game that last for about half an hour. Was way too easy on medium difficulty.
Then I spent the afternoon experimenting with the different city themes. They are only fun once, then after you actually seen all the buildings, the game holds absolutely no replay value (for me at least).
No matter what city you want to build, the gameplay comes down to a routine that gets boring really fast (build workplace, equalize it with homes, place a few venues, if you made a deficit of something, place ornaments, rinse and repeat). The visuals aren't great to even make the cities worth fighting for (the only thing that would have saved the game). The only themes I found somewhat pleasing were the Industrial (only at the begining, once it turns into some '20s stlye American city, it looses it's appeal) and the Authoritarian with all those propaganda and soviet style apartments (I kinda enjoyed its music also).
After this two kinds of cities, I always got bored after placing the first few blocks, trying to work my way towards a working Capitalistic or Cyberpunk city.
Uninstalled in the evening...
If they only named it Sims: Societies, then it would have been a mediocre, one day fun. But since they used a name that make people expect MUCH more than this, for me this game is a total faliure.
I just hope Will will get to work on Sim City 5 after Spore, just to restore the series' good name.

I just want to reiterate in case anyone was thinking about downloading or purchasing this. Its the biggest pile of steaming shit to ever hit gaming.
If this game came with free anal rape it would only improve it.
a 5.8 is way too generous for this game.

whew, this is horrid. I don't normally join the crowd and can usually find good things to enjoy in bad games, enough that I can play it to completion but oh lawd is this one bad game. I couldn't even force myself through the tutorial. I mean, I realize this wasn't going to be like Sim City, but I figured "hey, they want to try something new, okay". Really though, what does this even simulate?
No sir, I don't like it.

kinde of liked the part with diffrent themes, for instance cyberpunk theme was fun, it involved futuristic crap and ppl where criminal etc. but evrything is so easy to counter, for instance in the cyberpunk thingy just give the guys non alcohol related enetertainment and lots of cops and boom all your problems are solved.
the game poses no challange what so ever. you just build your culture/product/authority/crap and build build build build. then all done, start over. this game is NOTHING compared to the old sim city.
if you even considering DLing/buying this, i would rather recomend any porn movie you can find instead. this is crap.

other then a few fanboys running around licking the boots/ass of the developers on the TM forums, very few if any people like this game.
Its unfortunate that EA isn't a smaller company because I'd like to see them go bankrupt over this debacle.
