The game is awesome guys Very Happy
Loved the first one, but was afraid this was gonna be like with Darksiders 2 kinda uninspired and not living up to its name... but thats not the case. New skills and abillities, story seems interesting and yeah... you play as a mouse from time to time to solve puzzles Laughing

Get it naow!

Well, I've finished it today, and it was quite okay, there were some flaws though, like the stealth parts, or some unfair bosses. The ending was nothing great, but to be honest I'm glad the LoS saga is at end. The problem with the game was the whole story was pretty flat to begin with whole Satan and God thing was pretty odd. I liked the IGAvanias more I know there people who say otherwise and say the IGAvanias were not good either. Well lets see what Konami is doing next with the Castlevania franchise.

Yes, it is, fighting mechanics are improved though, story is pretty bland.
You can buy new skills with EXP you get from fights or you can buy stuff at the Chucapabra Shop.

You play as Gabriel, but I don't want to spoil to much.
You play as him, but well as a different person Wink
LoS was pretty long too, game took me 20 hours, LoS was 20 hours aswell on normal.

What can you say about the modern day setting? Is it as bland most of the time as others say?

Well the modern day setting felt like Batman: Arkham City, the stealth parts were annoying too, I liked the castle bits more. The modern setting felt bland, I agree here, it was like the game switched between Castlevania or Batman like setting.

I just defeated Carmilla, for now the game is good, I'd say excellent in fact. But not as good as the original LoS imho.

In particular, LoS had better levels (more varied, better designed, more atmosphere) here you basically alternate between the city and the old castle, more repetitive. I can see why this is half the size of the original, you're basically seeing the same textures and models throughout the whole game. Also, there are some unnecessary game mechanics in the new one, first of which are the bland and useless stealth sections that have nothing to do with the rest of the game. And finally, the narrative structure of LoS2 is all over the place: you're constantly in and out of oneiric sequences, characters drop in and out without ever being fleshed out and some of the plot devices feel cheap and uninspired (I mean seriously, Satan is trying to take over the city by possessing people through a poisonous gas? Really? I thought he was the lord of hell, not a Bond villain...)

On the upside, it feels like the combat is tighter and more dynamic, I like the "skill leveling" system that encourages you to use all the different skills instead of relying on the same 3 combos for the entirety of the game. The free-moving camera is also much more functional than the fixed prospective of the first game, and graphics are quite good.

All in all, this game is great fun, and I recommend it. But if you didn't play the original LoS, play that first, it's the superior of the two imho.

I really tried to like the first game, i reinstalled it twice, i went to chapter VII and than i called it quits, way too many puzzles and boring ones, the combat is in imo repetitve, i found myself doing the same combos over and over again, the daggers and fairies didnt do it for me in terms of variaty, they are basicly all the same throw weapon, and tecnicaly he only has one melee weapon in the entire game.. wich is very boring....

Most of the time the path isnt clear, and not because its hard to see, but because of the badly design lvl's, its full of invisible walls that seem like they have a path but are just there to try to make the game look less linear when in fact this is a glorified 3d version of a 2d camera game, speaking of that, there is no camera control on this game..

Yes the artwork is amazing on a few selected spots on this game, the boss encounters are epic most of the time, but there is also, and if not more, bland levels with low detail on them, and not very atmospheric imo.

Its also full of QTE's that make some of the boss fights tedious as hell, i also dont believe for a sec some of you didnt die jumping into stuff you thought you could of just to end up dying trying, the lvl design is very misleading..

That beeing said, this demo is a huge improvement, i played it and instantly saw all of these things corrected, the throne lvl has more atmosphere than 60% of this game..easily, the graphics are rly good, textures and lightning, the combat is insanely improved.. i hope the game is not as bad as some of you seem to think..

I already finished LoS2, yes it was an improvement over LoS1, but there were some bits which were not so good like the stealth parts, but everyone has a different opinion about those things. I can only say that I enjoyed it, but I'm also glad that the Saga is at end.
In LoS2 you can disable the QTE's through the settings, was the 1st thing I did, guess MercurySteam listened to their fans.

I just hope those bits are nowhere near the same quantity as the ones i found myself bored with on the first game, i really wanna enjoy this second game, i saw nothing that worried me on the demo, not even the QTE's..

Man, the art design in this game is fantastic! Especially in the castle segments, there's so much detail in pretty much everything! So Much Win
