Have you ever overclocked and overvolted a northbridge before? Doesn't matter what motherboard it is, they get hot as fuck when you push them to their limits.

Actually overclocking NB gives pretty nice performance boost on AMD setups.

No, I don't see a point in OV'ing the NB.
Maybe it's something for hardcore clockers |

As breezer said, it can make your system seem just a bit more snappy.
@Breezer, Intel doesn't benefit from it at all?? That's no fun

You cant even overclock the NB on Sandy Bridge, same as Ivy.

Well, you CAN overclock the BCLK which is the modern equivalent of FSB but there's no point and will just make the board/CPU unstable. Get a K-version CPU and simply change multiplier. That's how you overclock Intel these days. No idea about AMD overclocking since I sold my fantastic Opteron 165.

aww well that's no fun lol. Well whatever works right? Just gives me an excuse to buy more copper
Also...Monsoon does it again with great ideas. Instead of buying an ugly piece of silver that goes into my tubing, they made a butt plug that goes into a g1/4 hole, which I have a spare of on my resevoir/pump

I have always ran the BCLK at 102 or 104MHz, it is still slightly more benefitical than running straight out 50x100.
Difference might not be huge but it is also wrong saying there is no point in doing it |
Thus what most people don't grasp about overclocking. The question isn't why, the question is why not! And the only 2 excuses are 1) not into it 2) inadequat cooling!

lmao!! Well, my butthole tightened up a lot since I left VIP. So this should be a perfect size
It'll be soonish hopefully. Selling one of my guns that I never take out to the range anymore so that'll be more than enough to order. So within the week I should be good to go. I'll take funner pictures this time, I've got a fun idea

Word to the wise; those Koolance connectors are really awesome, but I suggest that you install them on your radiator instead of your CPU (if that's still where you plan on putting them). Also, they do drip a very small amount whenever you pull them apart.
All in all, they are the best part of my current systems. They allow me to remove my radiator from the system and take it to the bathroom where I can shower it off and clean it. I used to have to bring a five gallon bucket of water into my office to clean my rad as simply blowing it out only works for so long before you are constantly having to clean the damn thing.

haha ya I heard about it dripping a couple drops, which is expected. Also I'm not installing them on my CPU, I'm installing them on the XSPC X20 pump/res I have. It can only go out the front of my case due to the design of the drive bay so if I need to take my loop all out at once, I basically have to take the hoses off the rez to pull it out.
I never planned on them going into the cpu That picture I posted was just a stock one from their site.

Ah. What fucking chav would put them on their CPU I wonder? The weight of them alone might cause the CPU to crack or, at the very least, not have the block seat correctly.
Yeah, I had to make certain that the tubing on my res was enough to allow it to come out of the case enough to be filled. On my next build, I'll probably have everything internal except the res...
I just wish I had the balls to attempt using copper...

oh im not using copper piping anymore. I'm very..anal about clean looks which meant I would have to use hard copper, which..is..fucking..hard...to..bend... and 1 small fuck up means I gotta go fucking buy more of it so I said screw it, I'm just going to accent the blackness of the computer in copper, like the fittings, rad grills (also the name referrs to the copper blocks to cool) thumb screws etc.
You don't need an external rez. Just drill a hole, buy a fill port, buy a cylinder rez that you mount to the inside of the case and run a hose from the top of it to the fill port, wallah.
like this guy did, it stays in mounted, but the very top fill pot that you mount to the case has a cap that comes off than you can pour water into which goes down into the rez.

^ pretty overpriced rad for so slim/single slot, you could easily get a 60mm thick 360 Rad for that price :l

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh.... Now I see what you're doing.... You're disguising your need for a penis vacuum-pump into a water cooling project.....

That's one of the better slim 120mm's though. Granted he should have just gone with a 240 from the get go, that one will do him just fine for what he's going to do.
General rule of thumb in watercooling is 120mm of radiator per block + 120mm radiator for headroom if overclocking.

Well I screwed up and shorted myself two fittings so the computer is down until this weekend
They'll be shipped tomorrow morning ugh. I have a full barrage of DSLR pictures coming in so consider this crappy phone cam picture a teaser.
Those monsta rads are so much bigger in person than any picture could show
