I have to say, I wasn't expecting much from Zombie Army 4 and just booted it up for a quick look before deleting, as I usually do with the PS+ games I don't expect to play. Had never even heard of it to be honest.
It's surprised already - such a lot of fun to knock the difficulty down and mindlessly blast the zombie hordes! Feels great to play, the weapons are really enjoyable to use and the constant feedback on combos, bonuses, unlocks etc give you that dopamine hit.
Would never have bought this one, and I have no doubt I'll drop it when the novelty of exploding heads and slow motion gore (yep, x-ray vision and testicle shots from sniper elite are present and correct) wears off, but a perfect plus game.
PS - Thought this looked surprisingly decent on my PS5 for the last gen game, and just discovered it's been patched for PS5. 4K60.

It depends on how many new AAA games will be included. As I hear rumors that there won't be new games from day1 of release. If so its pretty much useless IMO.

my ps+ costs 30 euros for 12 months. just buy it at the right time, or buy cheap psn credit.
same will go for "extra" which will then be just 7 euro, instead of 14 euro.
while you won't get any day 1 games like this, like with game pass, i think this is a good middle ground, for both the developers/publishers and the gamers.
you get many games for "free", just like with game pass, but also the developers/publishers still got a reason to put some love into their games.
just look at all the trash which gets released on game pass, it's really the netflix of gaming, in any way and i doubt it's a money maker for microsoft. quality of games will suffer from this.

Gamepass got some day1 ms games which are worth it. Also psychonauts 2, warhammer 3, guardians of the galaxy, crusader kings 3 and some more. Anyways, i hope we gamers can profit out of it.

It's hard to judge without seeing the games that'll be included with this. However, I get the feeling that they've just amalgamated PS+ and Now in their current states. Same catalogue of pretty average middle of the road titles to pad out the library.

it's all nostalgia, you play it for like 1-2 hours, if not less and then never touch it again.
not only because of bad graphics, but also because you got used to how games are these days.
they are way to frustrating most of the time, but also because of shitty controls like with resident evil or shenmue.
"real gamers" who really play old games, like for real until the end of the game, all the time, are such a minority that i don't know how it could be justified for sony/ms/nintendo to put so much time. money and effort into it, to make the games to run on newer consoles.
if you like this old stuff that is fine, but don't call yourself a "real gamer", makes you look like an unlikeable snob.
But you can appreciate the stories in many old games. People say that everything has been done and thats why there ar e little original. Try playing a old jrpg and your eyes will open and you'll see how different stories can be and how fantastic and fresh it feels, even when its old.
Take breath of fire iv for example. Humans summoned god like beings feom other dimensions, and one of them had created an empire of old and was later was split in two. Its a dual protagonist system and you control of them both at different times with not much info where things were heading and why its like this. They both go their respective paths and through their trials and tribulations until you reach the epic clash where they fight.
But i must admit that you can only play a few until you feel its enough as many of these old games copy too many plot and gameplay elements from each other. But it's always like that.
