In 1802, the merchant ship Obra Dinn set out from London for the Orient with over 200 tons of trade goods. Six months later it hadn't met its rendezvous point at the Cape of Good Hope and was declared lost at sea.

Early this morning of October 14th, 1807, the Obra Dinn drifted into port at Falmouth with damaged sails and no visible crew. As insurance investigator for the East India Company's London Office, dispatch immediately to Falmouth, find means to board the ship, and prepare an assessment of damages.

Return of the Obra Dinn is a first-person mystery adventure based on exploration and logical deduction.






This game.... what. a. masterpiece.
Let the plebs have their cowboys and horses, I say. This.. this is art.

Screenshots don't do it justice, because it's not just pixel art, it's the 3D engine. Seeing it in motion is amazing. The visuals, combined with music synchronizing with what's on screen, sound effects & voice overs, .... The full package breaths atmosphere.

I also like how the story develops. It starts with the ending, and then slowly, one piece of the puzzle at a time, you start to get a grasp on all the horrific things that happened to the ship and its crew.
The less you read about it beforehand, the better. Discovering the identities of everyone feels very satisfactory.

ok... It is retarded to think that rdr2 people are not audience for this too. I am planning on playing this and Call of Cthulhu once I am finished with rdr2.
