My external harddrive just flipped on me. Says "G:\ is not accessible. The File or directory is corrupted and unreadable"
This happened as I was going to transfer some movies from a Canon DV cam.

This is very sad as I had some important files on that hd.

Anyone who've experienced the same, and solved it?
Or got any solution to it..

EDIT: The hdd is a Maxtor OneTouch 250gb

Download Powermax from maxtor's homepage and remove the hd from the case and plug it directly to an ide bus (i dont think that powermax support usb/firewire drives, but check first to make sure and remove the drive afterwards if thats not the case) See what PowerMax says, and if the hd is damaged you can use tools like ontracks easy recovery pro to get your data from the hd before returning it.

I tried the EasyRecovery program.. And now I'm smiling as all the data is extracted from the corrupted volume. Thank you very much for your answer. Smile
