And sure enough that's pretty much what Outpost 13, that's currently going through a Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight campaign is inspired by. According to Canting Games, unlike that movie, you play as a dog named "Fen" who has come into contact with an alien life form that must induce enough fear by killing off the crew while maintaining your pet cover. When this is achieved you can finally leave Achelous and make it to the nearest spaceport.

I strongly dislike pixel art style in games. I survived up to this point only to have to relive shitty graphics!?

Pixel art will be a common thing now, just like Unity games Sad

Well there's pixel ART and there's crap like this. It's on par with McPixel.

Dang, here I was expecting a game similar to Amnesia: Dark Descent but set out in the icey actic. Alas another developer cashing into the pixel art. I'm not all against pixel art, its just a lot of these games seem to implement it lazily just like this title.

I mean FFS that kickstarter video is so piss poor, with minimal PS and flash skills you could best that video in a few hours.

The Thing was a very powerful thing in 1982 - and I don't think it would have worked well as a cartoon, which is pretty much what this looks like.

This Kickstarter seems like a scam or doomed to fail. Barely any info, too low of a goal, shitty pitch video where the creator doesn't even make an appearance. And lol @ "you should probably fund this game".

How can they use a franchise for marketing their game without paying royalties? So I can make and sell a pixel art NES retro game based on Blade Runner?

Now that I think about it, not actually make the game, just some resources and concept "art", then sell that.

this really isn't "the thing" though
you just play as the damn dog that can go to ragemode

also, there's no gameplay or prototype or anything
there's zero indication of what kind of gameplay it will have

This. Enclosure was fucking amazing and it looked like shit. Similarly, the Trilby games had an amazing atmosphere (especially Trilby's notes) without needing great graphics.

That said, I do agree that describing the gameplay a bit more would help.
