Good evening gentlemen, I have no clue if you're interested in this kind of thing at all but I thot I would share it anyways, maybe you will like it!
I, a fellow humper, am developing a game, a simple game, slowly, just as a hobby in the background. So I present to you...

Official web page: http://theomegaprotocol.tumblr.com/
Publisher: Nobody.
Developer: Lordas (me)
Genre: 3rd person shooter/rpg
Release date: Hell knows, maybe never
Story/Description:
 Spoiler:

ScreenShots:
 Spoiler:

Project overview:
The project is mostly based on GTGD (Gamer to game developer) tutorial series with loads of modified custom code and more to come. So far not much implemented, just simple shooting (unlimited ammo), running around and multiplayer. In the current build you mostly can just create a server and kill each other over and over again (with a kinda crappy hit detection (still W.I.P)). As i've said this game is really in an EARLY EARLY EARLY stage of development but im sharing my project with hope that maybe more people will join and we could make a spectacular game together (or just f**k around and have a fun time). The game is planned to be completely FREE forever and always.

Download current PRE-ALPHA build:
http://theomegaprotocol.tumblr.com/

So anyways, I hope you will be excited and get involved in the progress even by just suggesting cool ideas or features. And if you're not interested just burry this shitty thread in the pile of the other dead ones Laughing

SIDENOTE: THIS FIRST POST IS REALLY REALLY OUTDATED Laughing Lazy to update

props to you, i did some unity scripting 3-4 years ago, it was still a pain back then so the game project i started with a friend went nowhere. Man, the time we put into modelling and scripting. It was fun but also tedious cuz unity wasnt as refined at it is today. Would you be willing to share the project files to tinker with?

Allot has changed over almost a year and after a bit of thot im starting from scratch with way more emphasis on detail and well better systems in general.
http://theomegaprotocol.tumblr.com/

Also the project is now on IndieGOGO if anyone believes in my dream
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/omega-protocol/
(I see this can be seen as a self promotion or advertisement and result in a ban, as far as I know people post links to kickstarter and such all the time on this forum so why can't I? but if this DOES offend the rules, please remove the link, or deal with me appropriately)

Wish me luck lads!

that alone is enough to start selling it on steam as early access... thats what they did with interstellar marines, and they never moved on from that yet even after more than a year.

We can even chip in and create fake positive reviews if we get free early access Cool Face

or go greenlight and promise us keys on releasefor our votes, that should be ever faster Very Happy

im actually not kidding... his game is no further along than other stuff on EA, and this could atleast generate some revenue to move development along if hes serious enough about it.

or he could cut and run after hes made a couple grand, doesn't seem to be any repercussions to pulling that crap on steam it seems Very Happy

I know, it took them how long to take down earth 2066?

even the game's forum was renamed to troll's cave by the dev

for a week or so before valve reacted. Laughing

Best of luck, man!

I'll try it when I have some more free time Smile

Also, a funny side note - my experience seeing the thread:

"Omega? As in, like beta or alpha? And protocol?!!" *reads the rest of the thread title* Failed Troll

Thank you for your wishes and support guys! And YES I am serious about it, the game will not be free anymore (the first post is really really old, will update it as soon as I can), I'm planing to sell it on steam for 15bucks~ if I get some funding, other than that I'm developing everyday. Sadly theres nothing really that much to show yet, just people running around and shooting at nothing... The idea to go crowdfunding came from that "Lifeless planet" game, I am certain I can do at least or even better than that and if that got funded... By the way if I dont get at least 1600euro I'm screwed cause I can't get the Unity license and greenlight (Steam asks for 90dollars to go greenlight). So we will see what happens. Anyways I am excited, if it flops then it flops but if not I will make a proper game, I'm confident in my own skills. P.s. proper trailer comming soon

Too bad the project is burried under all those "GIEF MONEH, NEED XBOX" campaigns... Sad

Good luck. Beware of feature creep do Very Happy. Have you tried/ thought of Unreal4?
I´v tinkered with unity some time ago.. but recently I´v just discovered Construct 2 which I found mush more tailored to my skill/ goal sets as a 2D only engine.

Ive had UE4 subscription for a while, unity is more friendly for my skillset tho, better sacrifice the eyecandy but complete the game and at a normal pace (need to relearn everything for UE)

Nice, but is the space between DISC and OVER intentional [at 0:38]?
Small things like this can be the difference between a sale and a no-sale.
