Hi all,

I am looking for a replacement for my Sennheiser HD449ers.

What I want is noise-cancelling Headphones (no mic, I got a separate mic) which are neutral, because I don't care about bass, since I'm going to use it mainly for gaming.

And yeah, you can also recommend me some mini-amp thingy, too (if you like).
(like the ones from Spyke's thread something something TN1 or similar)

PS: And please dont recommend me no super-expensive stuff (399 € Boses...) or something crazy like that. Sensible things only for gaming, with about mentioned properties.

How much do sennheiser 280 pro headphones go for around you? They're not expensive and sound great on games, they're what I used to use. They got some nice bass but not over powering, great for action games.

I'll post some amps when I get home, but i personally recommend the topping vx1, thing is great

Are you really sure about noise cancellation? How much noise do you really hear when there is some audio coming from the head phones? With some ambient sounds, most external noises are not heard anyway. Open cans give a much better audio quality, especially if you are looking for a neutral headphones.

@paxsali But more realistically, something like Sennheiser HD 600 is something that I would recommend at a somewhat sane price point.

I understand the question and it surely depends on the type of gaming he wants.
If it's for mp gaming, then open headphones with big sound stage and separation would be better.
I prefer bass headphones for that umph in games because I dont play mp

I was going to recommend you Shure SRH840 until I noticed you had already decided and ordered. Razz

Besides, I can see now that you were looking for some really extreme noise-cancellation solution. Shure wouldn't be able to offer that much.

You could have spent 1/4 of the price on headphones from a good brand and gotten the same experience lol.

Those QC are 300USD here, a simple pair of 80USD Sennheiser (280 pro I recommended) does the same.

All that matters is how the cup is made to go around your ear.

It's a nifty little device for what it costs Wink I like that they also included a button to switch between speakers and headphones. Sometimes running both with open headphones is a real mind fuck lol

But they are not NC, which I need, especially in the Winter, when my NAS, my PC and the heating are all on on the same time.
(plus, the refrigirator wakes up every 10min with noises, then goes back to sleep, then repeats...)

Too much background noise.

I hardly hear anything outside them when I use them...so imo they are just what you need Smile

Lawl.

You don't need an amp for noise canceling headphones.

You got a great amp paired with some fairly shit headphones.

I'm going to steal this thread a bit Very Happy

What do you guys think about these

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826374007

A colleague at work has them, and the sound was really great. And they're not that expensive.

They are a bit plasticky, but it's for indoor use only, so idgaf xD

Look into Audio Technicas offerings. They have some nice cans with a mic on them now. Not sure about the price though.

What's your max price?
