Thanks for the update.

I wish they stop breaking addons with each release...it's not entirely their fault of course, but it's damn annoying half the addons stop working for a week or two after new release until they are fixed again. Anyway, from what I can see, there is hardly anything new in this version...

As far as I know, there are new and/or improved html5 and css3 stuff on there. But I read such a thing some months back. Don't know whether it's true or not. Will wait on the final version to appear on the website (believe they'll be upping it in Tuesday)...

P.S. I believe, we should have a large thread for Firefox and not single smaller threads on the different versions... Smile

Firefox 8 to block unapproved by users add-ons.

Not as "evil" as it sounds...

Quote:
Software-bundled add-ons have been a problem for Firefox users, who have sometimes been surprised to find browser extensions show up on their machines without their consent.

An add-on included with Skype, for example, caused such a high number of browser crashes that Mozilla added it to a list of banned extensions last January. And in 2009, an add-on that Microsoft silently slipped into Firefox left browser users open to attack, a fact that Microsoft itself admitted.

Firefox releases get smaller, as do Internet Explorer cakes

I think to return a favor, Mozilla should send a truck full of cake when IE10 ships in 3-5 years. Laughing

3-5 years? MS's prepping it for next year alongside the launch of W8, so they can bake them up in a single volume. Very Happy

lol wut Wink

There was IE9 test drive more than a year before IE9 became beta. Smile It just shows progress on their rendering engine, which is already quite better than IE9.

I like IE9 more than the recent Firefox drops, so the shit is on Mozilla that they turned a complete fanboy "360" (Laughing) and made me hate it so much. Wink

Today at work, startup computer, open firefox: Everything slows down. After 2 minutes able to get into the task manager. Firefox hogging 1.9GB ... And one single page was open. WOW.

This time they really might be able to cut the memory usage of FF to just <1GB Laughing

No idea what's up with your foxes. Something is seriously wrong on your end pumpy. Since it's @ work, is it FF4 opening an internal database link or something?
