The Bearding 2014

29 years old.... always wanted to grow a beard, but never did as I was afraid I would look stupid and patchy due to how my facial hair grows.... talked to my boss and said I wanted to try and he said as long as I keep it short and neat it should be no problem....

Almost a full week, and it's coming in.... somewhat... they say you need to grow for 3 months to see the full potential... let's see how it goes.

I'm going to try and keep a weekly diary, and take some pictures after work today, then week after week until the 3 month mark.

SpikeZ I envy your beard. Hope I get get good coverage. Anyone else here have a beard/goatee/mustache?

*edit*

Gotta love it. Needing to talk to the boss before deciding to grow your beard. This is one of the reasons why i don't quite fit in certain work environments. Such stuff pisses me the fuck off.

Had a goatee for a year or two, problem is I can't stand a beard... makes my skin too itchy. Tried it a few times. Usually after a month or a month and a half it gets unbearable and I just remove it.

I do love the coverage I'm getting tho. Everything properly matched no bald patches in there.

Going to be fun to see your progress, let's hope you don't have a patchy beard! Razz

Well, in all fairness I do work in a very professional office setting and we need to uphold a certain look and persona here. I have many meetings, conferences as well as business trips throughout the year, where I have to meet with clients and vendors. I need to have "that look" if you know what I mean...

I didn't really have to ask permission, but out of politeness I wanted to know what the official policy was since everyone in the office is clean shaven.

Gotta keep it short and neat, no problem...that's basically what I wanted anyway.

Keep it on!

I cant even remember not having a beard. I had a goatee ever since the first hair sprouted on my chin. I wear a 6-10mm full beard since a few years now. Cant live without it.

What? Your beard looks great Kurosaki. Just wait it out a little longer and it will become smooth.

Haha keep up the good work Tw1st, it's already shaping up nicely xD

I'm also in the process of growing a beard again, after a couple of months spent naked. It's a nice sensation, it's good to have a winter coat already ready. Mine is similar to Kuro's at the moment, very much under control unlike last year, when it reached epic proportions and was like a child to me.

I haven't shaved my goatee or mustache in over 10 years. I trim it up but that's it. The rest of the face part has been there for about 3?

Use conditioner. Itching comes from dry area and just hard bristles. Fight it for a month and just let it grow, but as I posted above the itching can be subsided with Blue Beard.

Also make sure you get the dead skin off your face, it'll help let new hair grow in.

It's also in the genes and testosterone. If you were dealt a shit card well, you're not getting hairy any time soon lol

The "cheek" part of my beard isn't actually thick like most peoples, which would be awesome. But let it grow just long enough and the hairs will cover up the empty spots making it look thick.

I'll check out that bluebeard stuff, only a week in so far so probably way to early to start putting that stuff on my face. From far away, it doesn't even look like I have facial hair yet haha.

Also, I should probably invest into getting a type of brush to tame the beast once it starts getting out of control Laughing

@Lopin18 & @ixigia We need pix! Want to see that sexy Italiano beard!

I am 100% not under the influence and I can't seem to think of ANY reason why you shouldn't grow your white beard out to look like Gandolf.

Because honestly, I could see you doing this on a day off

I knew this would happen, only slightly over a week in.... and I am becoming totally OCD about it. The urge to shave it it STRONG. I feel like I'm starting to look quite stupid, and of course all the girls I know tell me to shave, while all the guys tell me to keep going haha.

I need to get past the 2 week mark!

MUST.BE.STRONG FOR THE BEARD!
