That update also seems to have broke the game making the options menu overlap itself multiple times so you can't see anything. The patch also installed speech recognition software for every language as I noticed like 20 new files in my add/remove programs list. Not sure why a lot of these files are not part of the game install as it seems like it will be a pain when uninstalling.

This must be the first game where the built-in voice recognition system actually works well. I've played 3 missions with the PS3 camera/mic and everything went smooth regarding voice recognition. With a good headset it could be even better.
It plays like a mix of Shadowrun and Full Spectrum Warrior. The enemy AI follows patterns but idk yet if it responds dynamically to flanking movements. It responds to flanking but it seems there's a specific pattern again. I have not played a lot though and the first missions were quite easy.
A fun game, polished, very good voiceovers and a superb soundtrack by Big Giant Circles.
I'm actually surprised this is an indie title. It really looks like an AAA title overall.
P.S. You can use your custom voice commands too!

It seems not everyone is affected then as I had the bug on a legit version from Steam and others have also had the issues as evident by the forums.

That's why I remove the _CommonRedist folder, I know I already have these components up to date and usually I don't even launch the games from Steam directly instead preferring the steam_appid.txt method. Smile
(Some games don't quite like that though and will complain in various ways from deleting said .txt to just not starting.)

So did they ever fix the game installing like 20 different speech recognition software entries for every language in my add/remove programs list?

So that's what the above stuff is, that explains the (ridiculous.) number of steps Steam has for this games first-time setup routine.
