Quote:
CI Games today announced Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 for release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One during the first half of 2016.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is set in a modern day conflict in Eastern Europe. You play as a sniper caught between three warring factions. CI promises non-linear, sandbox-style gamplay in large open maps. We don't have a video or a screenshot yet, but we do have the image, above.

Steve Hart, former senior producer of Rebellion's Sniper Elite V2, has jumped ship and is working on Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. Former Marine Paul B. Robinson is also involved.

The Sniper: Ghost Warrior franchise has sold 5.5m copies, CI Games boss Marek Tyminski said. It's the most popular game the company has on its books.
"We're investing a significant amount of effort into the third installment," Tyminski said."We're fully committed to creating a AAA franchise that gamers can rely on for the ultimate first-person sniper experience."

"Now City Interactive has found the money, it needs to find the confidence to strike out with some ideas of its own, else risk a derivative career that diminishes the strengths of its inspiration while accentuating its ever more present weaknesses."

My personal favorite remains the original Sniper Elite. Anything else was average at best or a disaster at worst.

And Sniper: Ghost Warrior series were a big disappointment for me, so far.

Those goggles look weird, but I guess it might mean a wider FOV in the game. Very Happy

I don't like these games because of their "high" difficulties. I LOVE long range sniping. I can do 1000m shot in ARMA 2 with ACE. But the thing in ZzZSn1P3RzZz G057 W@Rr1aR is that they don't give you any info that you need for the higher diffs. Wtf. Why you add wind and realistic ballistics if you don't give me to tools to measure the wind speed and director, the range to the target, I don't get any info about my rifle so I don't know at what range whats the bullet drop. Are they using the real life specs of the rifle or what? In any case I need this data to make long range shot if I am gonna play with wind and ballistics ON. Otherwise just taking off my hud and increasing dmg and other "CoD Vaterans" difficulty "increasing" is useless. The player is forced to take lucky shots until he managed to hit the target, thats not making the game difficult. Yeah it gets difficult because its like shooting blind literally, but thats not the point of any sniping game being "difficult". Its about making the hardest shot. If you don't give the player the needed tools, you better leave the game as normal - the bullets just hit where the aim is pointing or like in BF - slight vertical bullet drop and its it. But adding other effects is pointless.

I had so much hope for the second one... but once released, I realized that there was more fun to be found while stepping on a steaming pile of dogshit than there was in playing the shite game it turned out to be.

shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

Maybe they're hinting at native 21:9 support.

Haha it doesn't surprise me.. Ghost Warrior 2 was basically like a low-budget Cowadoody nosc0pe only. Heaven on console Razz Laughing

Judging from the marketing clips of this third one that claim authenticity while showing wallhack vision (a trademark these days) and scripted cinematic scenes, things are destined to stay the same in the name of viscerality.

Lydia is not a sexy name. Should have named her Bertha, or Edna, now those are sexy names.

Looks like they went full retard with this one. It's called Sniper: Ghost Warrior yet he runs in guns blazing. Laughing
