Since then, the title has been split into two separate entries – a single-player mainline seventh entry in the series going by the working title “Project Blackbird,” and a multiplayer-centric title called “Project Maverick”.
The single-player title is tipped to be set in the Alaskan wilderness, fairly distinct from the prior entries locales like Africa, a Pacific archipelago, the Himalayas, Montana, and a Caribbean island.
It will also be switching from the existing Dunia engine to Ubisoft’s more modern Snowdrop engine, which powers “Tom Clancy’s The Division” and the upcoming untitled “Star Wars” game from Ubisoft.
The games are said to be fairly far off, with a Fall 2025 window being targeted – four years after the prior entry launched in late 2021. |

Not really, lots of FC4 (Himalayas, as mentioned) was set in snowy regions. Doubt this'll be much different. After FC5 and 6 I am so tired of this series.

Doesn't sound like that big of a deal to me. It will only be certain main story missions, not the whole game. And it makes sense that if you're trying to rescue hostages, you wouldn't just leave them in enemy hands for weeks while you go fishing.

I just simply hate being pressured into progressing quickly. Its why i shelved pathfinder also. Hearing about people getting game over is not exactly enticing.

Farcry 2 was probably the worst of the bunch. Between the shitty weapons jamming every third bullet, and having to take Malaria medication every five minutes, it was just a massive pain in the ass. About all it had going for it were the fire simulation physics from what I recall.
The last Farcry I enjoyed (and probably my favorite of the bunch by a mile) was Farcry 5. The Montana setting was beautiful, and the cultist storyline/characters were fun.
But yea, they're all more or less copy-pastes now'a'days in terms of formula. Ubisoft's too busy counting their money to take any real risk anymore.

Because derp gamers continue to buy the same game over and over. If it wasn't profitable to copy and paste, they would maybe actually try make new games and IP.
Ya really bored of current state gaming. There is maybe 1 new game I'm interested in playing this year, if stalker 2 even gets released this year (even stalker 2 I'm expecting metro exodus copy and paste).
