"For instance, as a game journalist (represented by the Mage class here), you could greatly deplete your opponent's reputation (one of their two health bars) by choosing the "public naming and shaming" attack, but at a great cost to your own reputation too, as well it should be. Meanwhile, sticking to options that involve empathizing with, listening to, and educating your foes grants you bonuses."

The paladin class should've been named White Knight.

I'm just going to copy two comments on IGN (!) that make sense (!!) and that I agree with (!!!):

Quote:
This game would have been interesting if it didn't paint the other side as "ignorant trolls." In fact it would have been downright good if it also took jabs at the SJW side as being what it is. Straight Up Bullying.

I mean look at the power-bars. You have Sanity and Reputation, where the entire point isn't to actually win an argument, but to demoralize your "enemy" just because they have a different perspective than you. That's kind of fucked up. It glorifies the dog-piling tactics of the biggest jerks of the internet.

Again though, this game could have been good if it actually humanized everyone in the conversation. Because that's what it is. A conversation. Once you characterize anyone as sub-human, you get into some pretty weird territory as far as what constitutes as ethical treatment.

By the way, I don't buy the "you lose reputation by 'public naming and shaming' attack." If anything, that kind of behavior gets glorified on the modern internet.

And the idea that you could change someone's mind on the internet? That anyone will listen to facts? Lough out loud funny. That just doesn't happen.
Im not mad that the game exists. I'm really not. I support games as a platform for creative expression of any kind, made by anyone. It just has so much potential be so so much more than it is, and that bothers me.

Because in the end, I want awesome video games that take the medium to new heights.. And I don't think Im alone in that sentiment.

This game has a pro-SJW slant to me. I realize there's some minor hand wringing by the author over SJWs stooping to primarily ad-hom tactics but it still ignores the core lunacy of the SJ cult message.

-They are the hero class.
-Opposition is frequently depicted as 'ignorant trolls'.
-Downplays the first amendment and the serious problem that censorship entails.
-Doesn't really address SJW double standards and bigotry AFAIK.

Haha the video

4 minutes of them verbally wanking each other off

I've taken shits that were more innovative than that 'gameplay'. How lame.

indeed, the art of elegant crapping is often underestimated and shunned, and yet it takes skill to pass a consistent and long turd without breaking it off into smaller dingleberries.
this sjw shit on the other hand is just a very unhealthy looking dried up turd with more skidmarks than a formula 1 race.
