During a PAX panel Volition just announced a new Saints Row. It's called Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, and it'll be out on January 27th for $19.95.It's standalone expansion pack for Saints Row IV.
Johnny Gat and other Saints delving - and this is not a metaphor - into Hell to rescue the Saints Row boss who was promoted to President of the United States during Saints Row 4.
Hell is said to be roughly 50 percent the size of Steelport, and players will be able to fly around the city using demonic wings. Volition is also including weapons themed after Biblical curses and stories, including a gun that fires a plague of locusts, a gun that fires a plague of frogs, and a chair with machine guns and rockets strapped to it, representing sloth - one of the seven deadly sins.
The expansion will feature 2-player co-op where one partner plays as Kinsey, while the other takes control of Johnny Gat
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Featuring an open-world city sandbox, Gat Out of Hell will allow you to explore the world however you choose.
Volition explained:
Our brand new city of New Hades features five distinct islands including a barren wasteland of an ancient war, a towering downtown for Hell’s elite, and a crammed slums built for ultimate suffering. This new environment is specifically catered to one of our new supernatural powers: angelic flight! With angelic wings, our Saints will terrorize the ranks of Hell’s armies from ankle-biting imps to massive Arch-Demons.
Super powers are making a return with supernatural twists from demonic summons to deadly holy auras. A new arsenal of wicked weapons can be found as well as The 7 Legendary Deadly Weapons — each the twisted embodiment of one of the 7 deadly sins! Fans may also find some much needed closure for past friends (And enemies!).

"Standalone expansion pack" is an oxymoron. If it's standalone, then it isn't an expansion pack.
emmm what? We had plenty of those 15 years ago.
It is standalone as it don't require main game to play and EXPANDS on the story of the previous game

This series has gotten progressively worse for me, falling into the "trying too hard" category with #IV which didn't even feel like a Saints Row game anymore. This is just my personal opinion, but I think that the over-the-top style and humor only work well when there's some credibility left (and in this case, the line was crossed). Still, it can be mindless fun, so it's not all bad.
It really is trying too hard to be over the top and funny, and what really bugs me is that most missions are basically those mini-games/activities you can do but tied into the storyline.
They need to put more thought into those missions.
Saints Row 2 is the best one, IMO, it was funny without parodying itself, and the story missions were enjoyable and didn't repeat themselves as much.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty
It's also a shame because we don't have many good GTA-clones these days (hell, we don't even have GTA itself ), so an old school Saints Row formula without Hulk smashing, demons and anal-probing aliens would have been something pleasantly familiar and yet fresh.
They even said they were going back to 'normal' Saint's Row, fucking liars. Their DLC policy showed everything, I had bad feelings for future games after The Third and it was true like we can see here.

Totally gonna expect that, 'decided to call it SR V instead of actually making it a really good game with lots of improvements'
