As in title,

I'm looking for a smartwatch / fitness band. Any suggestions? Razz

My requirements is that it works with a gym workout (running not dependent on GPS updates as I run on a treadmill), would be really cool if it could also 'assist' with the machines and the like. (i.e. count the repeats, clock the duration, suggest changes based on speed / heartrate).

Music and bluetooth headset attach possibility is also required, and of course obligatory HR monitor.

(I realize that the fitness requirements are basically just an app requirement, but I have no idea which watch would have such app, if any)

Garmin Vivosmart might be what you're looking for, unfortunately it is only limited to its own proprietary app, Garmin Connect.

Yea, just saw the Jawbone, however they're pushing out a new version soon(tm) and I'll probably will end up doing an impulse purchase before that Smile (I rarely want to buy older versions of stuff)

i got a mi band 5 since a few months now and i kinda like it, even tho i never really wanted a fitness tracker or smartwatch. love the sleep tracking, heart rate monitor, step counter, 1-2 weeks battery life and stuff like a timer and of course a clock always with me.

im pretty happy with the features, even tho it's not a "real" smartwatch but now i want a bigger screen and not just a small wristband.

a friend of mine has the galaxy s3 frontier, it looks cool but the battery life sucks (2-4 days) and it's too big and too heavy for me. the successor "galaxy watch" is available in a 42mm version but the battery is of course even worse. (1-2 days) also i don't need most of those features, like wlan, useless apps, or calling someone with the watch.
apparently all "real" smartwatches got problems with the battery life, doesn't matter if it's tizen, wear os, or ios based.

so does anyone in here use a bigger fitness tracker, like for example amazfit gts/gtr?
was looking at the huawei gt 2e, just 100 euros and it has everything i need and want but sadly you will have to install huawei app gallery, huawei mobile services and the health app, that is too much. amazfit and xiaomi just got one app.

any recommendations? long battery life atleast one week, amoled screen, heart and sleep tracking and maybe gps. thanks

Welp, just got my first ever Smartwatch in my life: The Garmin Forerunner 965 great for fitness as I am Walking and Cycling a lot.

It's heavily dependable on external Smartphone connected to it Via Wifi and BT, But at least I can less use my Phone directly and getting it out of my pocket for everything like podcasting, music and digital wallet.
