I knew someone who worked on World at War, and if even half of the shit he told me about it is true it's amazing how well that game turned out.

Still, I actually half-enjoyed that game, and look forward to seeing a WWII shooter with at least the same graphics as COD:AW.

Might? It would sell like fuckin' hotcakes.

They have the player base + drones that buy this shit each year already. Improving it would only rake in more. They have the resources to do it, so there's no reason not to.

Ah, silly me... there's no reason not to apart from that biannual release cycle bullshit from alternating developers.

They could basically make the GTAV of FPS games (in terms of gameplay, variety, replayability - not sales), but they won't.

Imagine a COD game where... actually no, I've done it again. I used the word "imagine" in a topic related to Activison. Disregard. CTRL C, CTRL V.

Laughing Laughing well the series does need a reinvention of sorts. They've done every angle you can think off for an essentially on-rails shooter.

Yes, WaW was very good. It has that dark, all hope is gone mood of the war (even if it still plays like call of duty). The soundtrack was amazing.

That too, but it also had dedicated servers with over 50 people, huge maps, leaning, the entire campaign playable in coop, LAN, and the original Nazi zombies. It wasn't a lol wut game IMO.

I never managed to try the versus mp lol. So I don't know about how "huge" the maps were, but I somehow doubt it.

Yeah CoD2 was really good. The sound in the games was amazing back then. It's all taken for granted nowadays, but back then when I first played it I was like wow.

I disagree, shit developers and greed were the end of MoH.
"Authentic"

But they got their laughs in the end I guess, good single-player experiences on FPS are pretty much done nowadays. I'm currently playing crysis and it's really really sad that there isn't pretty much anything like that out there nowadays Sad

They never made another good MoH after CoD came along. I dunno about greed, but MoH dev team did split I remember. Didn't some of the MoH devs go to work on CoD in fact?.

The guys that made Allied Assault split from EA and became....InfinityWard, which split from Activision and became Respawn back at EA Laughing

These guys made some of the best online shooters if you think about it, they seem to run into the most greedy publishers tough.
