No release date, title or further details were revealed, but Tecmo Koei did announce a major expansion of the Fatal Frame universe.
A live action film is on the way from Kadokawa Corporation, and expected to hit Japanese cinemas in northern autumn. A novel is coming in August from The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service author Eiji Otsuka. Finally, a comic is coming courtesy of Kindaichi Case Files writer Shin Kibayashi.
Fatal Frame is know as Project Zero in Japan. The series has produced for main entries and one spin-off, but thr last release – developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, no less – was never localised, much to our dismay.
Somewhat unusually for a survival horror, Fatal Frame doesn’t include weapons and combat; players explore haunted locations and use a camera to capture ghosts. Presumably this will lend itself fairly well to the Wii U’s Game Pad. |

Other people are more optimistic than me that this will get a English release. FF IV never did. Not as long as the goof Reggie is in charge.

I'm happy this is coming to America but I'm disappointed in it being digital only. I'll buy it down the road digital as a last resort, but for now I will hold for a.) a possible physical release in U.S. or b.) the Wii U hacking that's taking place to hopefully allow me to at least import the European version (Europe does get a limited edition physical release) I just hope by the time that happens they're not so rare that the cost is through the roof. But none of this crap would be necessary if not Reggie and Nintendo of America, f em.

Downloading this now, can't wait. Beaten FF 1-4.
And yeah I totally caved from my last post on this thread and bought it digital. Little faith that it'll ever be a disc in North America so it's either buy it digital or don't play it. You guys in UK are lucky you get a disc version.
