DESCRIPTION:
After Reset™ - a classic roleplaying open word game with old school top view, which action takes place in the future on Earth dying slowly after nuclear cataclysm that buried nearly all life on the planet.
PLOT:
Planet Earth. 132 years after the "Reset," the thermonuclear apocalypse which ended human civilization. Around one third of the globe is covered by "Yellow Zones," where the ruins of cities are covered with radioactive dust. In these areas, Anarchist "Survivor" groups have taken control, and uncontaminated food and drinking water are valued at parity with human life. Another third of the Earth is in the agony of the "Red Zones," the epicenters of the deadly anomalies which arose as a result of a nuclear chain reaction in the atmosphere, and the morphing of the planet. The majority of terrestrial organisms are not capable of surviving in the "Red Zones," which makes it a perfect home for mutants and "guests" from deep space. The planet is unrecognizable and empty…
CORE FEATURES:
• DEEP AND EMOTIONAL STORY: it makes you feel nostalgic for the classics of RPG, such as Fallout 1/2, Torment Planescape, or Baldur’s Gate.
• REALISTIC AND SERIOUS ATMOSPHERE: you are immersed in the tragic story of a dying world, surviving every day traveling among the ruins and anomalies, stealing and trading information, and interacting with other survivors.

• TOOLSET FOR CUSTOM CONTENT CREATIVITY: build and share your own adventure modules at the post-apocalyptic world of After Reset™ with the powerful Wormwood Toolset™ of the sort of Aurora/Electron Toolset.
• MULTYPLAYER PERSISTENT WORLDS AND FREE DEDICATED SERVERS: launch your own dedicated Persistent Worlds on the basis of custom made modules and play on them with your friends.

Sounds really great; classic RPG, top view, open word, masterrace-only..and the concept arts in the second link are damn good.

Sounds interesting - if they can make it stand out and don't resort to too much clichés. The concept art certainly doesn't really scream "originality". A mix of Mad Max and Fallout. If they get a good writer and come up with some original set pieces, it might be really worth checking out.

that last bullet point has me the most excited. during my minecraft addiction i spent more time making bukkit plugins and tinkering with my server than i spent playing on it with my buddies. i love the idea of an actual rpg trying to pull that off.

If you can set things on fire, it's best you don't let me in the server lol. I accidentally burned down the town of the hump on minecraft cause I had no idea that a lighter + wood actually did what it was supposed to

"a classic roleplaying open word game with old school top view"
sounded so nice.. and then.. the... fuckin post-apocalyptic part came to ruin it all * sigh*. Im tired of this setting after millions of fallout games -.-
what's wrong with having a nice open world pure sci fi game... everyone is doing that post apocalyptic crap, this setting is boring and overused as hell, with tons of repeating elements QQ

This game will never see the light of day, regardless of it being funded or not. You have a few guys with no experience and nothing to show other than a "demo" video that someone with some competence could have made in 10 minutes.
That $900K would disappear in no time.

As much as I love post-apocalyptic settings, I am also rather tired of it now and would definitely prefer a neon-drenched scifi setting instead.

I hate delusional devs who actually think they will be able to get this much cash on kickstarter.

Asking $900k is just insane, it's more than likely a very good estimate for how much a game would usually cost to make, but when it's on KS and coming from unknown developers then it's just incredibly unrealistic to expect this. It looks to me like they're just trying to capitalise on the Fallout/Wasteland craze :\

Absolute insanity asking for 900k.
Up to 36k now with 19 days left. It sounds good and all, but without the fancy names behind the game you cannot expect to just cash in on fallout\baldurs gate.
All the fallout games? 2 ? And what other games have used this setting ? I must have missed a lot of games because this setting to me is still rarely used?!

I really like the idea of this and it looks great. But the guy leading the project doesn't have a lot of games to his name. Especially not of this scale, you must learn to crawl before you can run.
It is a real estimate of how much it costs to make a game of this size, the original Fallout game had a budget of 3 million USD. But maybe if they had a demo available with an area and a few quests, to get people interested and to show they could do it.
Personally I won't give anyone money just because they want to "create the kinda game you love!"

That doesn't sound good, or at least to me it's a bit strange but I guess now they might reach the funding goal however if they estimated 900.000 before and now only 35.000 there's something a bit odd about it.
(Unless they cut the extras like say a new sports car and a mansion to live in, heh.)
EDIT: Or how to best say it, anyway a project like this would cost a lot if they're going to pull it off.
(Wages for the developers working on it, tools like say a game engine license and other software and other equipment like computers and such plus other unexpected costs that might appear to name a few things so I don't see how they could suddenly lower the cost by 865.000.)
