I need good mini DVD's. Got some from mirror platinium 4x, but after 1 hour of play the GC can't read it or load anything for a while. I had the same problem with my DVD player with princo DVD-R.
So I hope some of you can tell me which medias to buy. (I will not mod my GC to use full size DVD's.

Wait.. so you can download and burn Gamecube games to mini-DVD's and run them now? Wow im so behind with the GC scene. How much do modchips cost?

are gc dvds actually the same format as usualy dvd-r/+r, only smaller?
if thats the case just get the best -/+ r you can and cut the edge till it fits into the gc.
no really, as long as the part with actual data written on it stays there, you can basically shape the thing to whatever you want.

Theres a new modchip out for the GC called Viper modchip. Dont ask me anything about it because I dont have a GC modded, nor do I know much about it. But I believe I heard its a mod they install in your GC and than put a regular DVD-Rom drive into the GC. Not sure. I could be wrong.

the viper has direct boot, but it isn't perfect like the ps2 and xbox chips. I hadn't discovered any problems with the backup games yet but some old games might not be playable with the chip (don't know why). You can use miniDVD-r. In Denmark they are hard to get and only DVD-R are avaible. I bought the mirror because it they promised gamecube combability and I knew the cube has a very bad laser, but they didn't work.
