Why didn't i know about this? Weta (peter jacksons NZ visual effects studio) are behind a relaunch of the show.. the characters and vehicles are all CGI (which in itself is to be expected) but whats REALLY cool is that weta is doing all the sets as miniature models, in which the cgi will be inserted, which I personally cant wait to see. I love practical effects and I cant wait to see a show featuring modern entirely real miniature sets being filmed with the cgi inserted. The show might end up being crap, I don't know, but im pretty excited about the visual element.

They did a feature on it on the news here last night, and while the characters look a little crummy as far as re-imaginings go (especially penelope, shes pretty damn cringeworthy), visually the production quality looked pretty good.

I think the first ep hits in a couple of weeks i think they said

You didn't know about this because their trailer sucked and I didn't want to make a thread

It doesn't look that bad, they captured the original models quite well I think. I read they did away with all the secret stuff, but we'll see. I'll check out an episode.

I do want to see some of it, especially for the visual effects. I don't mind that it aren't puppets anymore, it looked pretty dated in 80s already Very Happy

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
