Yesterday was a day, on which ex puppet state was founded in 1941 ('independednt republic of Croatia') - basically fascists which sold half of Dalmatia to Italy, did bunch of nazi like stuff with gypsies, Serbs etc.
And every day, on this day, you have idiots all over the country 'celebrating' the independence day... I mean, how fucking stupid do you have to be?
My country is such a joke. Seriously, if I didn't have a bf, I'd be off to Canada in an instant...

I don't believe in makes any difference anymore. Currenty Greece is the only 'developed' country that I know which doesn't have a government run by neoliberal assholes and much as I'd like to see Greece pull it off, it is almost certain that the duplicitous, divisive and greedy pricks will find a way to get back in control.
Amerika may have invented the trick of convincing people to vote against themselves but many other countries appear determined to surpass amerika in fucking over their citizens.
And lets face it, just about every government seems to be in the 'coalition of the willing'.
Russia may not agree with destroying Syria or Libya or Yemen, but they didn't seem to mind bombing Chechneya back to the stoneage.
I'm sure there will be a fightback, that eventually people will learn that being encouraged to indulge their prejudices is pure divide and rule, but I don't expect to still be around when it happens.
Last year there was an election in the country where I'm currently living and I spent a fair chunk of change on trying to encourage young people to pick a side any side and vote for it.
Right now the thing that most neoliberal politicians understand is that where once they could safely ignore poor people because they rarely voted, now they can also screw over the young who also don't vote.
Even when 18 to 30 year olds agreed that they were getting screwed because they were 'disengaged' most of em still didn't vote, much less create a movement that they could support.
We showed em direct quotes from neoliberal strategists who argued that people mistrusting politicians is a good thing, because the people who vote outta idealist motives don't vote for them. That only leaves the selfish pricks voting. The suckers who think encouraging the rich to get richer gives themselves a better chance of becoming rich.
The more you travel the more you realise that not only are the shops the same name everywhere, the people are also pretty much the same.
A few happily coining it & the rest screwed and feeling helpless.
