Quote:
The latest issue of GameInformer magazine http://multiplayernetwork.net/newsimages/rdr_coming_pc.jpg has confirmed the Red Dead Redemption PC version being in development. Been in dark until now, watch this month's issue of Game Informer to confirm the news. The game has been planned for xbox 360 and playstation 3 originally but it might now release on PC as well, if the news about the Red Dead Redemption PC version appears to be true.

Well there has been negligible chances of failure of this news as Game Informer has a track of providing true news to the readers. There has been an image of the game in the magazine along with an article on it where it has been mentioned to come for Pc platform as well. If you have a magazine with you right now, just open it and go to the game's page. There you will see Red Dead Redemption marked for PC platform as well, so this means that the game is coming on PC also.

Well this news about Red Dead Redemption PC version has been confirmed by Game Informer magazine only and not by the Rockstar, the official authority of the game. So we have to wait for more to see an official announcement regarding the Red Dead Redemption PC game. If Rockstar confirms it then watch it releasing simultaneously with the console release, that's my guess. It won't be wrong

Uh? First one? Wasn't this supposed to be a new franchise from rockstar?

Yep you're right, I read it was a "new franchise" some time ago on a gaming website... guess they were wrong.

Anyway from what I read, it's not a sequel, it's just "inspired by" Red Dead Revolver.

Well, 6 months later or not, I would really like to play this game. It looks extremely promising and gameplay-wise rarely R* misses a shot tbh.. Smile

Well, to be honest with patches, GTAIV ran perfect on my PC. Game was bugged at launch but R* took did end up taking care of it asap. I doubt RDR would be a "crappy port".

Gun was awesome a few years ago, from the trailers and previews this one seems much more cooler and nicer. A sandbox in the wild west is always welcome. These kind of games can be counted on your fingers, just like the rtt's for examplae (commandos, desperados and ..thats it hehe)

Actually I was pretty sad when I've read that this was only coming to consoles, but we have a little hope now. Let's hope that they finally learned how to program a fucking PC game (a modern one that's it)

Same engine and probably same shitty optimization. Rockstar hasn't released a good PC game (as in runs decently) since GTA Vice City I believe.
Too bad... love Wild West style game, especially Call of Juarez. Open free roaming world - this is a dream come true... unfortunately soon to become a nightmare.

They haven't figured out how to port a next-gen console game as of yet.

GTA IV hardly performed well on cosoles either, so it was arguably a good port of a poorly optomized engine

Hope this turns out to be good

What I fail to understand is the universal acclaim this game got. It was good but NOT THAT GOOD. Some reviewers were praising it like the second coming of Jesus Christ....

This game better run on quad core. I don't think having octo cores as the minimum requirement is going to cut it.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

+1. i was extrememly disapointed at release since i had bought it both for the 360 and later the PC version. PC version was shit compared to the 360 version, but after a few driver updates and patches from R* it runs great.

Can't wait for this, i like that R* makes games in unusual settings like this game and Bully, extremely rare to see those kind of settings in games for some reason..

It's a total build from ground up and Game Informer mag has a very good review of it.

This might be the first western style game I buy. Preview on comp, buy for console if spectacular.

I can totally see myself buying this as well. On the other hand I was certain I was going to buy Metro 2033, in fact I was just about to pre-order, when I took the trip into nfohump forums and someone saved me 30€. We'll see, but it's looking extremely promising indeed.

Oh and yeah I try to buy every major good title I play. It's the only way to ensure they keep making PC games in the future.
