I'm surprised it's only now that this game has been brought up here, seeing how it had already been in development for some time a while back before being put on hold. Still, it's nice to see that the game will hopefully be released in the end.
Swiss site GBase.ch sent word Kalypso has revealed The Dark Eye game Demonicon won't feature character creation but will instead have a set character like The Witcher or Gothic.
Not bad actually, still no main character from this type of RPGs will beat the Nameless Hero from the Gothic games for me . Yeah, Geralt is a way better character, but he just isn't the Nameless Hero, he doesn't have his cheesy lines and what not . The Nameless Hero also looks awesome, especially in the first 2 games, with his little ponytail . Anyway, that first image reminds me of the cover of Beyond Divinity. Also, to be honest, I can't wait to see some footage from this game. It would be nice if they make the game like Gothic when it comes to the world and where you can go in it.

No no no. You're doing it wrong. The Dark Eye is a amazingly rich and detailed world which should only be used for pen and paper games or hardcore cRPGs. Not this... whatever it is.

Yeah Drakensang was surprisingly good; one of the better rpg's in recent times and a reminder of how great games were (where you actually had to lok at stats and stuff).
The Dark Eye - Demonicon, an upcoming game from Kalypso Media, is scheduled for release in October for Windows PC and next year for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
This third-person action-RPG tells the story of a pair of siblings who become little more than pawns of sinister forces in a cruel and depraved world. Both brother and sister are constantly threatened by danger and demonic temptation, yet must find a way through their tortured lives through a series of serious moral decisions because it is their common destiny that will determine the fate of their homeland.
According to its press release, the key features of The Dark Eye – Demonicon are:
-A third-person action-RPG featuring brutal melee attack combos and dazzling magic spells
-Powerful storytelling with an elaborate narrative rich with twists, as well as believable conflicts and ethical decision-making opportunities
-Action-packed battles, where pin-point timing and clever tactics play important roles
-Unique magic system: a dark talent grants the player devastating mystical powers
-Important events in “Demonicon” will be part of “The Dark Eye” universe’s history
-State-of-the-art 3D visuals using the powerful “Vision” engine
State of the what??????! That's what happens when you let the people that made The Fall: Last Days of Gaia to do something....I don't think anyone forgot or forgive how Silver Style duped the english speaking fans or even how bad they've treated their german customers. And trust me, the devs are the same guys, just under a new name. Kalypso should have bought Radon Labs and not Silver Style....
That "powerful Vision engine" should get its miopia checked, it was like jumping into the early 2000s, only with the pseudo-actioney gameplay that feels like it's been developed in two weeks
