Search came up empty, so here it goes:

Quote:
Solarix is a first-person psychological survival-horror game set in a beautifully dilapidated science fiction setting

What is Solarix ? :

Trapped in far reaches of space, the sole survivor of a human genetic experiments gone badly wrong...

Years spent avoiding your infected crew mates with only a distant voice for company....

Battling against the corporations 'clean-up' squad who have one instruction - destroy all evidence!

The shadows are your friend, avoidance is your only strategy.

How long can a mind survive this environment?
....

Solarix is a ‘psychological survival horror’ game featuring massively detailed open-ended levels encompassing both survival and stealth-gameplay styles.

Our goal is to take the survival horror genre beyond simple staged ‘jumpscares’ and cheap thrills. With Solarix we will create a world that fills you with unease, insecurity and desperation.

Already approved by Steam and a Microsoft build being planned. All that's need now is your support!

Game will be available for a meagre 6 GBP already.

10 minute playthrough:

I also saw the developers post on the Steam forum that this game is inspired by System Shock 2 and Thief. Hopefully the end product lives up to that claim.

That would be great. I'm also hoping we'll get the option to turn off all the flashing objects in-game.

Not bad, not bad at all.
AI and animations are a bit rough around the edges, but the concept itself and the atmosphere are great. Plus there's freedom and stealth, what's not to like. Another +1 for being able to shoot lights, really hope this game can deliver the goods. Smile

I'll snag this but... Jesus... how cringeworthy is this from Reloaded? They're completely silent over high-end games like Dragon Age Inquisition, Battlefield Hardline, Grand Theft Auto V or any other AAA game lately ... noooooo, they crack Solarix, an indie shooter.

its because the're no work to be done. they just put their steam emu on the game and voila, release.

I'm grateful we get anything, considering the state of the industry. Its good they didn't quit the hobby completely Smile

I'm... not impressed :\ It's ugly, slow (your character plods along at an agonising pace with really loud footsteps), the animations are poor, you can't see more than two metres ahead of you, the voice acting is silly, the map is rubbish, the inventory is rubbish, no clear indication of what you're supposed to be doing. I spent nearly an hour in it and it's just... meh. Likening this to System Shock is a huge disservice to System Shock.

Maybe someone else will find the hidden gem but meh, not for me.

I've just had a quick (ten minutes) go, and...I can't disagree.

Uninstalled.

System Shock 2 can sleep peacefully with this Solarix around. Sad Laughing
I've just played it only for one hour or so (as soon as I arrived home, couldn't resist) and unfortunately I too found it underwhelming, to say the least. I agree with everything Sabin said, the idea of a stealth-oriented horrorish game was interesting on paper, and they actually nailed the atmosphere, but the execution is simply poor.

The movements feel glitchy, the AI and stealth are rough as hell (with the AI being 100% psychotic), the animations are bad, there's fixed low fov, no quicksaves, and so on. Even the exploration itself is somewhat limited, since while you're free to wander around, most of the times you need that specific item to open that specific door. Okay

It still could be fun if you look past the insane amount of roughness, though I can't help but feel that this is a missed opportunity, despite the low budget. Razz [sound of dreams shattering]
