hi there
I'm really interested to play some Flight sims based on Fighting & bomabrding from the air
i wanted suggestion of the best games that are available for that genre.

I checked gamespot & came across "IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles - Ace"
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/il2sturmovikfbace/index.html?q=forgotten+battles
but that appears to be an expansion Pack -- & --- to my Guess its an Expansion Pack to "Pacific Fighters"
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/pacificfighters/index.html?q=pacific+fighters

So can u pls Clarify me with the Stuff & guide me what to try for a combat flight Sim
I have the M$ flight sim 2004 & i think that also has combat sim.
pls let me know
thx

These are all good but the reigning king now and for a long time is IL2, any of them.

Pick up IL2:FB and Ace expansions, the pacific one is good but some of those missions were too much for my computer to handle. Its like this, they keep adding graphical features to an old engine, and as it improves, the performance of the game decreases...after going through 4 games now the graphics are moderately improved, but the hit on your cpu is tremendous.

In other words, your going to need a good PC to run them, if you dont have a good Pc, just get IL2 Sturmovik or IL2 FB (both stand-alone), no need to pick up the rest.

Its all WWII, but its the best combat flight model out there, regardless of the time period.

... I have played it only one day, it won't even recognize azerty keyboards (french ones), which is lame and feels good the amateurism Smile
I don't remember such a thing in the original IL2 sturmovik...

IL2-Sturmovik is really great. But yes, it demands a lot of your cpu and gfx card. It's the best WWII I've ever played.
IL2-Sturmovik is stand-alone.
IL2 Forgotten Battles is stand-alone.
Ace Expansion is an expansion for Forgotten Battles.
Pacific Fighters is also stand-alone (dunno for sure?)

A good modern flight sim is Lock On Modern Air Combat, but it demands also a lot of your rig (even more then IL2 I think). On the net you can find big communities for both. A lot of new planes, missions etc.. are available. Even a multiplayer client. Before someone asks: Yes, you can play online with the cracked versions.... Wink

If your aiming at Realizm and you really want to feel what is a sim you need Falcon 4. The game is the best F16 sim outthere and it the most realistic of them all. The mods and support for the game is enormous and even with the 96 gfx, with mods you can bring it almost to 2005 gfx. I've got the game, and with a good joy like Thrustmaster Cougar you can feel like a real F16 pilot:D

Pacific Fighters is a stand-alone, but will merge with a pre-installation of IL2:FB to upgrade it as well.

Also note, all further improvements/additions in the form of patches from the developer (which are continuing to be developed and are usually quite significant and often include new aircraft) are only going to be for Pacific Fighters or the merged install of PF & IL2:FB.

...also, if you are interested in WWII, CFS3 should be considered but only if you are willing to put in the time/effort to heavily tweak it and add much of the community based freeware stuff - out of the box it is garbage, but it is actually quite good with tweaks, terrain, effects, and aircraft add-ons by the community.
