So is he planning making this as detailed as dwarf fortress?
or is this more of a DF light since he's adding graphics?

The complete lack of a tutorial makes the first steps a bit difficult (just search the wiki), but once you get into it, it becomes a really good time-sink. Not regretting buying this game.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

It's funny how it seems that many people want these kinds of things, but then when they're here, no one talks about them.
I've been playing the game.
It's not bad, but I've been missing some things from DF, like being able to control material on a stock pile, and I need dwarf therapist. In game job manager isn't bad, but a spreadsheet view really is better.

I might buy it but I have to know if the alpha is really playable or is it just alpha full of bugs and lacking content?

Definitely playable, already has a decent amount of content and there's no big/game-breaking bugs that I've noticed. Like crossmr said, it's basically DF with graphics and less features. I think they're doing weekly(?) updates, so new stuff gets added constantly.

Yeah I've been playing more tonight. Golem spawn is annoying. You need to mine.. but any dark area can spawn them..so.. either you've got to waste tons of wood and coal laying torches everywhere, or suck it up.
It really should be more logical than that. There isn't a good way to manage it.

Really ? Spawning in dark areas without outside access is retarded TO THE MAX.

Yeah, but so far it's not too bad, I've had a couple of lower level golems spawn they didn't really hurt anyone by the time the soldiers arrived.
Or at least not seriously.
At least hospitals seem to work.

Ugh..they dodge off cliffs really easy in this..
had a guy wander off from a training grounds near the main gate. Dodged into the lake. I though hmm..I need to put a wall there, go to queue the wall (without pausing) and like 3 seconds later another guy dodges off the cliff into the lake.
Both wearing my only pieces of iron armor off dead goblins.
No recovering that. Unless i drain the lake.
