The law (remember: different countrie other laws hard to remember right?) here says that you are ALLOWED to make a copy of you'r cd. So when it is possible you can make a copy of the cd. But it doesn't say you need to be ABLE to make a copy.

Well, in my country it is allowed to make a backup copy of a dvd movie or music cd for your own use, or to download (not upload) movies or music, but this does not count for software/games...
Also, it is not allowed to get around any kind of copy protection or to offer a way to get around a copy protection (like cracks and stuff).

Some places there is no concept of being able to make a backup for personal use, don't think it applies to software anyway - you accept that you have a license to use their game, harsh as it sounds, not to copy it as you don't actually 'own' it, just the disc it comes on with permission to use the contents.
