Awesome dev's..

Quote:

They announced in May of 2015 it was being developed for all VR platforms.
At the end of 2015, Facebook monetarily coerced the company into Anti-Consumer exclusivity. With that came the end of Vive Support.
More Backpedaling by the developers
Why doesn’t ADR1FT support Steam VR?

ADR1FT doesn’t currently support Steam VR because we are working with and supporting Oculus and their entry into the marketplace. We’ve been working closely with Oculus for most of the development of ADR1FT and we want to support them as partners because we love them, their hardware and their vision for VR. It is entirely possible that this may change in the future, but we don’t have any information regarding that and it is entirely out of our hands as the software developer. These are decisions for the platform owners to make. We have no say in that whatsoever. Not even invited to the table read.

I really wish they'd all go with the same standard right from the get go instead of doing this whole exclusivity bullshit. But we all knew it would happen... -_-

(Assuming of course that there really is an exclusivity thing going on, which isn't 100% certain?)

If VR takes off all future titles will be cross-system (makes sense)
If VR tanks and is forgotten within a year the problem will soon cease to exist
For the first year, expect "bought exclusives" left right and center tho

Yeah, that worked really well with consoles didn't it (or not)? Smile

Well, I was talking about PC devices (Oculus, Vive, etc.), obviously sony/ms can commission exlusives for their platforms as they've always done (and will continue to do in the future, regardless of VR)

There's always devs who's gonna get paid to do something exlusive for the platform to sell units.. So it's gonna be the same as current consoles im sure. So VR will not only have this high price against it you're even going to have to buy both units to get the most out of VR on PC.

It's easy to think of VR as instant fail.. but even if there's just 1-2% of PC gamers with VR there's a market there and those people will most likely be desperate for content. It was like that with 3D cards and games in the beginning.. i remember buying anything that had proper support.

Exclusivity will just piss me off. Nothing worse than seeing a game you really want, but sorry it's not available for your chosen VR. Bullshit.

Exclusivity isn't going to help launch VR, it's already a niche purchase for the people who can afford vr. No one is going to buy 2 different units for different games. I could afford it, but i sure as hell won't just so i can play exclusives!

4h sounds a lot for that type of "game". The ones i've tried has been 1-10 minutes attractions mostly, except for actual games like Half-Life 2. Didn't really expect this to have much in terms of gameplay.

It's still probably a bit too expensive for what it is.
