But seriously, while it wasn't "news", it's not a "news" thread, it's a TV and Movie thread. I never knew about Star Wars Underworld, the leaked footage or the circumstances.

if a rapper, not so smart person or celebrity which is totally hip and in right now dies, the assholes come out of their holes and call them idiots, well deserved, laugh or type any other shit.
but god beware some one else dies. like someone from a metal band or an actor from the 70's who did one good movie back then and was never heard since then. holy shit then the rip train rolls and it won't stop.
you should get used to it, cause the people in here sure will not change and the mods are pretty much all the same. (not looking at you ixi) thats also the reason people in here will not get banned, or only the wrong people.

To play the devil's advocate, it was a random individual with knowledge in rocket construction, which is not that exceptional, who wanted to prove the earth was flat.. The whole purposelessness of it is the only reason we've heard about his death.
At this point in his story, you've lost the good will and politeness of 85% people - I'm sadder for his family rather than anything else just like you, but you'll find a lot of people saying that he alongside his loved ones threw away his life on purpose, first and foremost.. and that's not inexact either. Whether that warrants jokes and insults is another story, and also a matter of humour and proximity to the guy.
I probably wouldn't have closed this topic either, but I can understand Frant's reasoning about it, we're not going to have topics every time an individual does an experiment doomed to kill him, the list would go on and on. I admit this incident "made the news" worldwide, yet the thread expectedly generated predictable replies which were not that constructive.. it was going to be a "fun" thread for sure, and I guess that was part of the reason for its move to the Useless Void.
Ironically, the only reason you and I heard of him is because of how futile and sure to be a disaster his whole ordeal was - unless you're into rocket engineering which you might well be considering previous posts, if you remotely knew the guy I can well understand your strong sentiment regarding this lack of respect. I'm (usually, one can always make crude jokes, but I often find them sadder than funny) the same so trust me on that
