Rise lives on Gamearth, the world of the classic videogame characters. He suddenly finds himself in the middle of a war against the Space Grunts from Nexgen planet, the bald, muscular soldiers with big guns that just decided to pull an invasion.
Only with the help of the legendary gun, Shine, he’ll be able to stay alive and save his planet from the invaders.
The game mixes pure, satisfying shooting arcade with the use of different bullets and add-ons to solve all the situations Rise will find on this adventure.
Let the shooting commence.
Created by the people who brought you Plants VS Zombies or Worms, this is a lovely crafted, teeth-grinding action game with a puzzley twist that will keep you holding onto your controller very, very tighly from beginning to end. So go buy a pretty solid one.
Rise & Shine is a love letter to the whole videogames history and is full of little surprises and homages for all gamers with a keen eye.
And you shoot a lot of stuff too.
Welcome to Gamearth.
You haven't seen levels like these because nobody is crazy enough to do what we've just done. All the backgrounds in Rise & Shine are ginormous hand-drawn illustrations with different parallax scroll layers, so every step you take is completely different with no repeating elements or tiling. And the attention to detail is almost obsesive. You'll find yourself getting killed by the bad guys very often just because you were admiring the vistas.
Yeah, it is a lot of work, but as soon as the game starts at glorious 60fps you'll see why it was all worth it.
Epic just doesn't cut it.
There is a tight relationship between Rise & Shine's gameplay and story. There will be drama, action, big bosses and surely the most mindblowing ending of all time. Guaranteed. That's if you get there, of course. First you'll have to deal with tons of Space Grunts, missiles, big robots, small robots, red bullets, yellow bullets, traps, mines, dropships, zombies (of course!!) and a whole lot of challenges thrown at you.
And that music is tight!

I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news today: Rise & Shine has been delayed for a release date of January 2017.
We are heartbroken, but as usual, I like to be 100% honest about everything we say publicly and this time won't be different.
The reasons for this delay are the two available launch windows we had for the game: Window 1 was September 8th and the other January 2017.
Sadly, we all felt it was too big of a risk to release the game in two weeks without having enough time for a proper marketing campaign.
So we had to delay for a January 2017 release, which was the next available launch window for us on the Xbox One Marketplace.
The game is pretty much finished already but rest assured we'll use this extra time for basically three things:
1) Fixing the tiniest of the tiny bugs that might be left.
2) Polish even more what's already polished.
3) Make people know the game exists!
We apologize for this delay and we honestly hope you stay with us for this little extra that's left to have our work in your hands.
As I said, we're kind of heartbroken, but that's how things are. Thank you very much for your support and being there for us. Really.
We simply hope you guys enjoy our hard work in less than 4 months. Thank you very much again!
Publisher seems to have a pretty good track record so far minus one game being "average" instead of "positive" though the rating here on this overview page might not be completely accurate.
(SteamDB has a variant that tends to be a bit more balanced.)
I only own JazzPunk and VÖlgarr the viking myself though of those games.
(Only really played JazzPunk too, VØlgar the viking seems to be pretty OK though.)
But this is a different developer so other games means little.
