Psychonauts 2: Tim Schafer is 'ready to do it'

Although the game had a passionate cult following around its release, the popularity of Psychonauts rose recently thanks to word of mouth, Steam sales and even piracy.
"Over the years it's gotten into the hands of a lot of people, through being two dollars on Steam for a while, and being pirated.
"So it's gotten out there. So if all these people were going to buy the sequel it would be a big hit," added Schafer.
Fellow Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert joined Schafer's studio last month, and revealed they are working on a brand new project. |

Not at all, Psychonauts was 2$ only for a few days.

Loved the first game, the last level was a pain in the ass but I got there
Far better than Beyond Good and Evil in my opinion
With talk of steam sales, and piracy, we might get a PC release, there's clearly a market for it, possibly more than consoles, the original was on PS2 and still didn't sell too well
It all depends on the publisher, if any, obviously

Psychonauts received a random ass 2.6GB update on Steam. It adds:
