Quote:
From Japanese game developer Inti Creates comes the 2D side-scrolling action game, Azure Striker Gunvolt!

With the “septimal” power to create and manipulate lightning, Gunvolt faces off against the massive conglomerate known as the Sumeragi Group. Intense battles unfold against Sumeragi's ultra-powerful adepts (those who possess septimal powers) as Gunvolt fights to keep his nation free.

    ■Lightning-Based Action
Use your trusty sidearm to tag enemies, then let loose a burst of electricity for massive damage. You can even tag multiple enemies and zap them all simultaneously.
Your lightning abilities are not just for defeating enemies, though. Use them to perform various maneuvers such as hovering across hazardous terrain.

■Do Battle with a Variety of Bosses
Sumeragi's most powerful members, with a wide range of personalities, await you at the end of your missions.
Battles get heated as bosses unleash their most powerful skills and techniques.

    ■Get Hype for Lumen's Songs

Even Gunvolt falls in battle sometimes. Enter the heroine Lumen, whose songs give Gunvolt the strength to get up and fight once more.
If you manage to avoid damage and build up a lot of score, the BGM will change midway through the stage to one of Lumen's songs. Gotta keep that no damage hype train rolling right along!

To celebrate the 1st Anniversary of the release of Azure Striker Gunvolt on the Nintendo 3DS, the Steam version of the game packed full of brand new features! The following are just some of new features only found in the Steam version of the game:

    ■Speedrun Mode
With the addition of Speedrun Mode, it's time to put your electrifying skills to the test.
Future updates will expand the capacities of this mode, so keep an eye out for those as well!

    ■Japanese Voice Mode
Enjoy the original Japanese version of the game complete with Japanese voiceovers and ample mid-stage dialogue, all translated into English.

You get that for free if you preorder Azure Striker before a certain date, iirc Smile

~edit~

nvm, misremembered.. it's not a preorder bonus, it's a free download for AS purchasers available during the first month after Azure Striker is launched. A much better deal than a preorder bonus Very Happy

Apparently the game is locked to 30 FPS like the 3DS version.

So far it seems the majority of the reviews are negative and also pointing out various issues with the port.

EDIT: Besides the 30 FPS cap it seems the game suffers from poor framerate, it also uses two screens or well windows (One for the game and one for skills), nearly a emulator and also various bugs (Might be pretty much broken on certain AMD GPU's) and a very very basic main menu that is essentially a black screen with a few different text options for starting the game and customizing controls but it seems control customization is buggy as well.

 - The graphics display issue that has been reported with Radeon graphics cards has been fixed.
 - "F5: Change in-game screen layout" also added to Start Menu.

We would like to sincerely apologize to everyone who was affected by this issue.

Should fix the crash issue on certain Radeon GPU's and F5 I think toggles it so it's full-screen instead of windowed and it uses one screen for both the game view and inventory view.
(But from what I've read it's a bit buggy and you can't exit the game in full screen mode without the use of Alt-F4 or Ctrl+Alt+Delete, also if you play in windowed mode you can move the screens around via ALT - and probably via controller too - however it won't remember the new screen position when you next start the game.)

I wonder if this is just a 3DS emulator packaged up, like the PC releases of FFIII/IV were Android packages.

~edit~

This is actually a pretty fun game! The port is hilarious, 3DS version wrapped up for sure, low res, AA, locked framerate, dual screens you have to switch with a button or tap with the mouse, but the GAME is really fun Smile
