sup guys,
yesterday my girlfriend came to visit me, I was waiting for her in my garden where I usually chill and smoke my hookah / shisha. She went to her ex bf's house to get the cat, because it looks like he beat the cat from time to time, didn't feed her and even let the brother of that cat die (he opened the door, so the cat could leave the building using the front door, which points directly at the main street of the town. the cat got overrun by a car).
anyway, my gf rescued 1 of the 2 cats, she found her crawled up in the corner of that bastard ex-bf's garage. She brought it into my garden, she opened the cage/cat-box to give the cat some water and that was the moment she ran away. I only had a couple seconds to look at the cat before she ran way, she was really thin and scared.
I've been looking since yesterday, posted it on facebook. some neighbor mentioned that she saw her around 5 in the morning 2 streets away from my street. I looked again for her today. I guess I should look for her when the sun goes down

any more tips? i haven't said he should look through bushes and under cars at night... but the chances he will see her on a open street or even in the garden without wandering all day through the neigbourhood is pretty good at night. also we got thinks called street lamps over here... it makes light at night and you can see. wow

Don't forget the surroundings of that ex-bf's place. Cat might go back or search for her familiar place.
And keep on asking around, posting flyers. Eventually she'll go beg at some house for food or someone will notice her being around the same place.

Two opened cans of tuna should work wonders during these hot summer days to attract all the cats. And catnip

I would say it was a mistake to have the cat outside in an unfamiliar place, especially if it was scared. It's unlikely to come back to your place, since it doesn't know it - it's not "home". It might not even be in your area by this time.
As for going by the BFs place, while in general it's a valid thought (although it could be argued, since it was also a place of possible abuse), if it was a mostly indoor cat, if the place was far enough away and the cat got to your place in a car, it might not even find it's way back there.
Hopefully you will get lucky, or someone will spot it.

Found this only a few years back; one of the sweetest cats I've ever had actually killed a neighbours cat in a fight (most likely died from wounds I'm guessing, my cat was huge and apparently mean as hell to the competition).
My father took him away with him in the car and left him 15-20km away from home.
Couple of weeks later he was back, even somehow crossed a nearby river (and this is a big river) to return home.

He probably did it out of spite. I suspect it's their biggest motivator...
