Found this when...well just browsing around 
"LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO (December 13, 2006) - SEGA® of America Inc. and SEGA® Europe Ltd. today announced that Obsidian Entertainment will create a role-playing game based on the Alien film franchise with license from Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising. This title will be developed for the next-generation systems and the PC."

An RPG? WHY? KotOR was great, but that's about the worst genre I can think of for an Alien(s) game. Obsidian isn't that great of a dev, anyway.

I have to agree with tzen. The Alien franchise is perfect for shooters and horror games, but rpg.. meh.

Why not, sounds pretty cool to me...at least its different. I am sure they will do a OK job with it...if it ever gets released that is. The shooter has been done so...I guess there is some more $ to be squeezed out here.

Well a RPG might be good personally I think its all about the tension, atosphere & fighting. If they can achieve all that in a potential alien RPG game then bring it on!

kotor was great , a kotor 2 was a unfinished beta test version from the amateurs obsidian!
obsidian destroy a great game
and neverwinter nights 2 is too not a great work from this amateurs
i know this alien rpg is unfinsihed and a amateurs work

I thought KOTOR2 was great, maybe not as good as KOTOR, but still great. I never encountered any bugs in that game.
Sure, NWN2 was rushed, but they have patched up a lot of the bugs in the weeks after launch, and now it is very playable.
I don't like an Alien RPG because 1) screenshots look like shit 2) I don't think an RPG fits in the Alien universe

FRACK 2009...I wonder, will we be around then?. I bet we all will be abducted by soul hungry Alien Grays and Earth will have been taken over 2 times already....or was it 2012?

If it's action RPG, it might actually be pretty good.
Making it for next-gen consoles and PC makes it much less attractive though.

I just don't think Alien suits the stop-and-pause gameplay of so many RPGs. Maybe a hybrid FPS-RPG like Deus Ex could be cool, but just RPG? No way man.

I sense that this game will become pure crap, the alien stories doesn't fit in the rpg feeling. Obsidian should make kotor 3 instead.

We don't see enough sci-fi themed RPGs so I say bring it on!
(My best guess for this game it will be something like System Shock 2)
btw SEGA should really change their logo already
